Well Agnie, let me remind you...sometime back in some thread i had said tht the nation comes before any region and i look at the players as a national figure more than a representer of any region.. I've never been biased on the basis of region or fanboyism.. If u think tht i'm obsessed with sachin because he hails from bombay then u are grossly mistaken.. If tht is the case, i shud have been a bigger fan of Saurav Ganguly since he is a bong like i am and as u've already seen in this very forum, most (probably all) bongs are diehard Dada fans since he represents their state...evn if he is out for form for more than a year, they'll keep supporting him just because he is representer of their state...this is what is called fanboyism.. I've never supported such fanboyism.. probably the reason why i had heated arguments with my cousins and other bong friends who wudnt want to hear anything bad about dada, no matter what..
To say tht i'm not a true fan because i support sachin is like saying tht all those who are admirers of his game are not true fans... I've admired his game evn when i used to stay in delhi/kanpur/jhansi/bhopal/nagpur/bangalore/pune and now Bombay...So was he from my town then?? I am a fan of Sachin because he has been consistent thru out his career (Well almost) and had never had gone thru such a bad phase like Saurav ever...He may have been out of form for sometime, but definitely not as long as Saurav was (more than year, after which he was dumped..) Saurav had taken things for granted as a captain and probably used to think tht nothing will challenge his position evn if he kept underperforming for more than a year. Chappell did the right thing by showing him the door for such an attitude..I'm not supporting Chappell here, but yes, During tht time, Saurav needed to be corrected..
I used to like him too, but his attitude during tht time really p!ssed me off. I never really liked him after tht incident.. Thrs no denying tht his career graph will be remembered for the highs and extreme lows when he was thrown out..Sachin's career in contrast has been very consistent...every batsman in the world wud want to have such an excellent career graph and i praise him for that...So is doing so wrong?

As for Dravid, i dont want to say anything, because i really like him a lot..probably he is only superseded by Sachin in my list, but i feel bad for him as his career graph has been waning since his fall from grace..And i'm afraid this may just turn out to be the last phase of his career. He cud have had a much better retirement.

Sachin FYI had a big time failure in the lead up to the last we toured Australia and it was only when we reached there and he was given chances by one Sourav that he made a century. Mr Sachin has been notorious for not performing when it matters(in finals or important matches or in 2nd innings of any match) Mr Tendulkar has been notorious for getting injured whether it is tennis elbow or his back.

FYI Sourav captained when one mr Tendular failed miserably to captain. FYI Sourav led when no one else could in the aftermath of match fixing and he made careers by giving chances and regularly to people lik Irfan and Yuvraj and even Sehwag. If this nation respects Sourav(And don't trivialize the whole issue by Bong supporters, i personally hate the lot as they make him a regional hero, when Sourav is and will be a national hero. And i am not a bong)

Your saying that Dravid deserved any better just shows your likes. Between Dravid and Sourav, the latter was always more consistent and a better striker in ODI's. In tests Dravid is king.

Fact is you have your own likes and everyone else has his owns. Fact is also that since you don't appreciate achievements of Sourav and almost 80% of people in this country does; it does not make those 80% fools. Today national TV makes a headline news of Sourav getting sacked, not of anyone else. Every person cannot be a fool and face it, it won't be a headline news if there was no support.

I like Sourav, i admit that openly. The man has guts no person in Indian team has. He came back when no one could have imagined him to come back. He won matches for India and he captained liuke no one else ever did. He is a top performer and has been whole of last year. If that doesn't make him a hero, your definition of heroism is messed up.

And on Sachin, as i said he is a performer too. But when you keep the tag of world's best you should perform to that standard. When has he last won a match for India? Losing causes and his own centuries. I don't say that. Every cricket expert will tell you that when it matters Sachin fails. I will place Ponting and Lara way ahead of Sachin. They perform when it matters and win matches.

And as far as captaincy goes, Sachin is a deserter and we all know who took up the challenge when Sachin couldn't and did exceedingly well controlling people like Sachin.

I agree about sachin to an extent, but not completely. About dada, I agree with PR that he needed to be kicked out to get some sense in him, but one can't forget what he has done for India. But at that moment he wasn't good for the team to move forward. Some time in the future when somebody writes a biography about him, I am sure Dada would admit it himself.

About dravid, there was no reason to drop him.

I still believe, youngsters are needed to this indian team, but the seniors can't be chopped with no regard. I am yet to find youngsters apart from yuvi and dhoni who can let their performance pick them

Anyways, now we gotta move forward. Sachin would be on the line next!

Hmmm... dropping both Dravid and Ganguly was a bad idea. One would have been OK. Actually, at this point the selectors should simply have announced a policy - that extremely experienced players would now be played by rotation, as would juniors (though the rotations would be separate, i.e. you don't rotate Raina with Sachin). As things stand now, they have a demoralized team, and a team severely lacking in experience for the ODIs.

At this point in ODI's Dada is much better than Dravid..

thats is the point. Dravid is no better in ODI's. He has never been.
A rotation would have been better.


The problem with the pack of fools is that if the team does badly for which there is every chance, then they are going to get so much flak that they will have hard time selecting anyone in future.

Dravid is very good test player.. no matter how many times he fails or how many deliveries he takes to score a run.. As he can stabilize the situation ..

But in ODI's we know this is no good, you need to score and these days even singles are no good... Sehwag has tendency to get out very early which opens the way for Dravid who chokes up the run rate and then under pressure we collapse .. That has been normal trend..

Dada and Sachin Opening and Sehwag coming at 4 down...around Yuvraj.. This mite help us in slog overs.. where Sehwag can play without any pressure..

I dunno, i hate bloody dhoni.. His batting is useless.. None of his shots are grace to watch.. we yeah he gets nicks here and there..and with is power swings..scores some runs but overall he is BAD Batsman.. I would prefer Karthick any day over Dhoni..

Besides was it Dhoni how convinced selectors to keep out these 3 ??
