If the team wins the first two matches no one will recall Dravid back into the team.
He will be called back only if the team loses. Thats the main issue.

thats highly unlikely.
Judging by the way he plays in tests, if he is not recalled in ODI's(which will only happen if India win the ODI's) then there is fat chance the selectors will break the so called "winning combination".

Or maybe they will have to. Its tour down under this winter

Look, they dropped Dravid and that is one thing... but why did they choose Sehwag? He may well do great for all we know, but that is not the point. The point is Sehwag has done nothing to merit his inclusion, so why should we take such a big chance on him?

Looks like people have forgotten the man who replaces Dravid had not performed for years now. This was really harsh on dravid. I wouldn't have bothered if performance was the only criteria for selection of a player, but this is pure politics.

Even if these f*cking selectors had to rest Dravid then they should have had given chance to someone who is worthy of filling up the void created by him(mind u it is easier said than done). Some one like Badrinath or Manoj Tewari would have been better bet.

Moreover bringing back sehwag will add to confusion in the team. Now we have 5 genuine openers in our team (Sachin, Ganguly, Uthappa, Gambhir and now Sehwag). I don't understand the logic behind this. In the series against Australia, it was the middle order that looked most venerable. So we should have focused on strengthening that, what purpose will Sehwag's inclusion serve?

IMo Sehwag has been selected for the middle order only. Or Tendulkar will go into middle order.

Now what merits Sehwags inclusion? Well i think it has got nothing to do with present performance but his past performance against pakistan that has been nothing short of stellar. I know you will apply the same argument for Dravid but he still won't compare to Sehwag. Now the only trouble is that the underlying reasoning is flawed that since he did well against pakistan 2 years back, he will do well against them now too even though in between he has done nothing.
Well time will tell. Shoaib is back in the Pakistan squad
