Bluffmaster - Election Manifesto

Hello fellow FEzens. I am one of the candidates contesting for the post of "Member's Representative" of FunEnclave. I am here to urge you to vote for me in the coming Elections to be held on Tuesday, June 16th. I know a lot of you must be thinking that this is just another campaign thread aimed at promoting myself, while not enterily false, there is much more to it. I would like to address some of the issues involved in Tuesday's election.


Tuesday's election is of dire importance to the short-term and long-term future of FunEnclave, a community which most of us have so dearly accepted as our Virtual Home. Here is a chance to possibly change FE forever. First time in the history of Funenclave the power will actually lie with the members. Quite similar to a family where a decision is taken after the approval of all the family members, all decisions on FE, major or minor thus far will be taken only after the consultation of each and every member of the FE Family.


I would like to remind you all that the position of Member's Representative is not a figurehead. This is a real job with real hard work involved, and I feel that I am the best qualified candidate to perform the job. I have a vision for FE, a vision which will completely change your FE experience.


You must have heard the old saying - "Promises are meant to be broken". Well, let me tell you, there won't be any broken promises here, you know why? Because I won't have to promise you anything. Any decision we collectively take will be implemented immediately thus leaving no room for any unfulfilled promises. Transparency in whatever I do is one thing I can absolutely Guarantee. Anything and everything I do will be transparent and for the world to see. Together, we will set an example, we will build a community so strong that people will admire us and follow our suite for years to come.


I am a very practical person and to prove that I am not all talk, I have composed a list of Ideas which I will implement if I come to power. The following is the list of some ideas to take FE to the next level :


1. MWM (Member's weekly meeting) - Every week, a meeting will be held amongst members to discuss any issues,complaints, suggestions, feedback etc. Feel free to discuss anything under the sun. During the meeting, important decisions will be made with respect to FE. Public voting will play a major role here. If a decision we are about to make is not unanimous, a public voting will take place and the majority will decide the outcome. This way the power will be in your hands and nothing will be left for me to decide thus giving a true meaning to the phrase "By the people, for the people".



2. MOW (Member of the week) - Every week we will have a public poll to decide the Member of the week. 10 deserving members will be nominated by you and then a public poll will decide the winner. To make things easier and fair, I will keep a track on the stats of the nominated members. I will Provide you with vital information like "the no. of posts made by the member that week", "the no. of threads made by the member that week" and the links to all the threads made by the particular member that week. The member will also be judged on his/her behavior that week. By providing such info, I will assure that the winner is selected on merit. The Winner of the Member of the week contest will be given 2000 Nickels and a shiny New badge for that week.



3. The Best Member Award - My Term as the MR (Member's Representative) will last 2 months. Just before my term gets over, a Best member award will be given. This award will be given to the member with 4 Member of the week awards. This means you will have to become a member of the week 4 times in 8 weeks which is very doable. The Winner of The Best Member Award will be given a Rs.500 Gift voucher, 5000 nickels and a Shiny new badge which will last for the next 2 months.



4. FunEnclave Contests - Everyone of you must be already familiar with the FE contests which were held in the past. I will take the contests to the next level. There will be an open discussion about the type of contest to be held. The decision you make will be final, this makes the most sense because it will ultimately be you who will be participating in those contests. The Contests will be held once in 15 days. There will be a Gift Voucher for the winner, 1st Runner up and there will also be 2 consolation prizes. The type of Gift voucher/Prizes to be given will be decided by you.



5. Thread of the week - A thread of the week will be decided by you through open poll. The winning thread will be featured on FE's Homepage for 1 week and the thread starter will be given 2000 nickels as a reward.



6. Weekly FE Arcade Championship - As you guys know FunEnclave has a very rich arcade section with more than 2500 entertaining games. I will organize a weekly arcade championship. We will decide the games to include and then we will have a tournament. The Winner of the tournament will be rewarded with 2000 nickels and a shiny new badge.



7. Monthly Arcade Championship - We will also have a monthly arcade championship where the winners from the previous 4 weeks of Weekly arcade championship will take part. If a member has won more than once then the runner's up will be given an opportunity. The winner of the Monthly Arcade Championship will be rewarded with Rs. 500 Gift voucher, 5000 Nickels and a shiny new badge which will last for a month.



8. The Weekly Quiz - I will organize a fun quiz for the members every week. The topic of the quiz will be decided by the members. I will make it such that it will be fair with no scope of cheating. The Winner will be rewarded with 2000 nickels and a shiny new badge which will last for one week. The Runner's up will be rewarded with 1000 nickels.



9. FOSCARS - Every week we will have a Foscar award ceremony. The objective of these awards is just to pull some legs and have some good clean fun. Various gimmick awards will be given to the members during this ceremony. Ofcourse, the winners will be chosen by you. No Rewards for winning Foscars though.



10. FE Movie Database - As some of you might know, the work for an official FE Movie Database has begun and is in the pipeline. But till the time it is completed, we can have our own little FE Movie Database. I am an avid Movie lover as are some of you guys, we will develop a small database of movies which we like with complete synopsis, our Reviews, Trivia and other interesting stuff. Rest assured, this will interest almost everybody and will be of great help to casual Movie watchers.



11. Threads on Demand - Want to see a hot photoshoot of your favorite actress? or just want to start an active discussion on some topic?, feel free to request for the same. I will try my best to fulfill your demands.



12. More Debates - There have been some very good Debates on FE in the past, I am proud to say that we have some very good and talented debaters amongst us. I will see to it that we have more debates on interesting topics. A healthy debate not only increases our awareness but also gives us a perspective. Since there can not be a right or wrong in a debate, we cannot really choose a winner but rest assured good debaters will be suitably rewarded.



13. FE Fight Club - I have to work more on this idea but I have something going on in my mind. I will explain it to you guys when the idea is concrete. For basic outline, it will be like a friendly fight contest. Think of it like a leg pulling contest, where any member can challenge anybody. Then the two members will step in the ring and fight it out with words. The one who is the wittiest and who is able to pwn the other member the most will be the winner. The winner will be rewarded with Nickels and a Shiny new badge. It will be held in good spirit and as far as I can imagine, it will be super fun. Just Imagine stepping in the ring with Boornie.



14. FE Fantasy League - Again, more on this later. I am working on something, if I am successful we will have our very own addictive fantasy league.



15. FE Download Section - Downloaders rejoice. I will create a new Download Group in the Group section where the links to interesting stuff on internet will be given with a complete Guide on how to download for beginners. Internet has a lot to offer and if you think you have seen everything, think again.



16. MR Team - Ok, last but not the least I will have to make a Member Representative Team. Surely there is a lot of work to do and I can only do so much. The team will compromise of 4 members including me. I will pick my team ( this is one liberty I hope you guys won't mind if I take ) and we will have our own special private forum in "User Groups" where we will discuss various things and share some responsibility. The Team members will be given a special MR Team badge.


So, these were some of the ideas that I had planned to implement. Hope you liked them. I should remind you once again that this is not just talk, each and every thing mentioned in the above list will be implemented as soon as I come to power. And this my folks is just the beginning, I am sure after we have our weekly meetings, we will come up with a lot more unique and exciting ideas. The Change is coming.

Apart from these ideas there are some other things which I will take care of when I come to power. Some of these things are :

1. Aggressive advertising of FE - I will do my best in making FE as famous as I can. I will construct an advertising campaign for FE and do my bit to promote it as much as I can. Be it on Youtube, orkut, facebook or any other site ... FE will become more popular.



2. FE Plaza Makeover - A complete FE Plaza makeover is in the pipeline. I will have the responsibility and liberty to decide the prices of various plaza items. Surely, without the support of fellow members this will not be possible. This is why I will give you the liberty to decide the prices for Plaza items. Afterall, it will be your hard earned money which will be spent purchasing these items so its only fair to let you have a say in this.



3. The Return of FE Casino - Yes, I know many people ( myself included ) miss the lovely FE Casino. I will try my level best to bring it back but with more zing this time.



4. FE Cricket League - I know, I know, I know. Its long overdue. Actually the code has already been written, it just needs some polish. I will see to it that we have a working FE Cricket League before the start of the Ashes. So all cricket fans can rejoice, FE cricket fantasy will be live soon.



5. New Sections - After having a thorough discussion with you guys, I will bring in some new sections to FE. Sections like Photography are long overdue anyway. FE has only one way to go from here, which is up!!


6. Complete Transparency - As you know, as your MR, I will be given $100 to spend on FE for 45 days. Each and every penny of that amount will be utilized properly. Everything will be absolutely transparent and for everyone to see. A money log will be maintained where each of you will be able to keep a track of the money being spent. I will favor online transactions so that a complete transparency and trust is maintained.


Budget Breakup

Total Budget = $100 or Rs. 5000 approx.
Duration = 45 Days.

No. of Contests to be held in 45 Days = 3
Prizes to be awarded in a single contest = 1st Prize, 2nd Prize and 2 Consolation Prizes.
Value of 1st Prize = Rs. 500
Value of 2nd Prize = Rs. 250
Value of Consolation Prize = Rs. 100

1st Prize : 1 x 3 = Rs. 1500
2nd Prize : 1 x 3 = Rs. 750
Consolation Prizes : 2 x 3 = Rs. 600

Total Budget for Contests = Rs. 2850


The Winner of the Best Member Award ( The winner has to win a minimum of 4 Member of the week awards so there is a chance that there will be no Best Member award. ) will be given a prize worth Rs. 500

Winner of the Monthly Arcade Championship will be awarded with a Prize worth Rs. 500


Total = Rs. 3850

Money Left = Rs. 1250

The money left will be spent purchasing new skins, badges, features etc. I will hire a professional to design these things or it will just be carried to the next budget.

This is just a rough estimate to give you an idea. Ofcourse, I will consult you guys before implementing this budget.



FEzens, I cannot encourage you enough to make the right choice and vote for me. My dedication and hard work will lead us into a golden age. I apologize if I wasn't funny or popular enough to earn your vote. But I hope my professional demeanor and serious attitude have shown you that I am devoted to the cause of improving the state of FunEnclave. At the end of the day, you will find an honest, ambitious and hardworking individual in me. With time you will realize that no matter what, I'll always stand by you in both good and bad times. Vote for me, Vote for CHANGE.

Its my sincere request to you people that you cast your vote wisely. Please Do not vote for a person just because you are close to him, look at the big picture before you vote. Vote on the basis of merit. Remember, the ultimate goal of all this is the welfare of FE.

Hi Bluffy, your ideas are certainly promising. Frankly I haven't yet decided whom i would vote for, and will surely consider voting for you. I have some questions though.

1. You have proposed a lot of things above, do u think it will be all feasible with a small budget of $100?

2. We would like to know if you will have the control over the nicks, coz for many things u have promised where u have proposed to award nicks. Sardar will surely not be in favour of high liquidity of nicks on FE again
