From what I understand, being born in Hong Kong, having an English mother and her father being of Indian extraction and double K being brought up as a child outside of Kashmir, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kashmiris don't actually consider KK as 'one of them'.
Alternately, maybe they take pride in her achievements in much the same way as we all take pride in the achievements of our other heroes in other pursuits, (
again, given that KK never grew up as one of them, she obviously isn't expected to conform to their way of life)
On a personal note:
Wow, as a teenager she was hot
and as a child, how cute was that.........
