As for most of the actresses being from north, they still have to do what the directors want em to do, down there...and frankly speaking, gals in these tamil/telugu movies are only there for the song and dances and item numbers...thts why they dont have any problems taking a girl who doesnt know a word of the regional language because they hardly have a few lines of dialogs in these movies...most of the centrestage is taken up by the male actors..tht doesnt put them in good light...

And finally, look at these so called superstars...i mean they look like grand daddies(rajnikant, cheeranjeevi etc.) and they still dance with these 20 something girls...i mean, this is height re... and the girls are shown to fall for these very uncles with big mustaches as if all normal guys of their age were dead or wiped from the face of the earth...

And look at these costumes for god sake....aaarghhh...raaste mein aise nikla toh kutte phaad ke rakh denge..

N look at this guy..does he look like a hunk to have both his hands full with the girls??

Both those actors are mainstream comedians, hence the flashy costumes.
p.s: count the number of south indian movies being remade in bollywood

Also most of the times, the remakes are made by the same directors and producers,just to increase their market and profits..
Plus you have to agree tht the woman leads in most of the tollywood movies are there only for the song n dances, sometimes too hott to handle...

not tht its bad for us..

....only misfits with these gals are the heroes looking like their dads..dont you think with age they shud take up more serious roles rather than dancing around the bush with 20 something babes just to appease the audience??

I mean, rajnikant dancing around with Shreya who may not even be half his age...aint this too much??

Er i believe very few have been to a rajini movie in this thread. anyways whats all the hype about?
From the moment the words SUPERSTAR appear on the screen people cheer, the atmosphere is fun actually. And when a punch dialogue comes along , the place goes haywire. Yea sometimes they don't make sense (let alone any sense) and newton's laws are put to the test and an old man is made to woo a girl fit to be his granddaughter

but then in a rajnikant movie all that is forgotten , its all about the style , and the dialogues .
even if they play the trailer during the interval of another movie (POTC 3 in my case) people come runnin in to watch.... If ur not from TN you'll probably never get it. You've got to go to a theater in chennai (or coimbatore

) and watch it ...and then watch the people go nuts ....but still i do agree that the whole blond thing is very stupid, let along clownish .....

this is why we go and watch his movies....all the stuff with shreya is for the promos , will hardly have any relevance in the movie....damn this photo is awesome!

And all shankar movies are big budget, he spends more than he thinks according to me, hell it doesn't matter as long as there is rajini in it.

Well, to me Shankar seems like the indian incarnation of Jerry Bruckheimmer and Michael Bay...

All their movies are high on budget and over the top promos but extremely low on grey matter when it comes to script and overall package...

I did...i was in pondy for 10 days...less than a week back..and actually watched close to 4-5 regional rajni movies on the local cable channel just to figure out what was so gr8 about rajnikant...to say i had a bad stomach after it all wud be an understatement...

Same old unbelievably lame stunts..wud even make a kid frown and shake his head in denial....

Most of the times, the movies wud give u the feeling of dejavu..been there..seen tht..

same old village setup..a village belle (half his age)trying to woo him as if he is adonis..sometimes riding a tanga..sometimes a rickshaw..uhh..yeah..tht was interesting...
