How to start playing and the Basics
|
- You start off Fantasy F1 by registering your team. Without doing so you cannot participate. However, you can watch the stats and feel jealous but thats about all you can or would be able to do.
- To register your team, go to the Fantasy F1 home page and click on register team. Once you have done so, you will be presented with two text boxes. One for your team name and the other to upload an image which represents your team. While the team name is compulsory, the image for your team is not. Your team name can be anything you wish to have for example "The Champs". The image you upload will be auto-resized to 100X100 pixels.
- Now that you have your team registered check to see if there is any race thats accepting new registrations. You can find this on the main page. Under race Spotlight look for "Race Registrations: OPEN". If instead you are shown "Race Registrations: CLOSED" that means there is no race at the moment where you can take part in and you just have to wait for the next race. Usually the team registrations are open 5 days in advance of an upcoming race.
- Once the race registrations are OPEN, Click on " My Team " on the right sidebar below your team name or on the top navigation bar. This would take you to your teams OverView Page. For the rest of the race, you have to see this page only. You can find all race related information concerning your team here.

Team Registration and Editing

- Before you go ahead to register your team, its best you review the drivers and teams page. For one thing it helps to know a bit more about the players your are goint to choose. But most importantly you might pick up some important news in the news section. (If Alonso has a broken leg before the race, selecting him won't make you a hero!)
- Once you have gone through all the background information its time to select your team. For this go to MY Team -> At the bottom find a link to "Edit My Team" click on that and it will take you to a new page with some drop down selection boxes.
- You have to select the following 4 compulsorily:
- A Qualifying Driver
- Two Main Race Drivers
- One Team
The Qualifying driver earns points only during the qualification stage. The other 3 choices don't kick in till the main race.
Your aim is to select the drivers who will finish at the top of the points during race weekends.
So you will strive to select a qualifying driver that will finish at the top of the qualifications table after the qualifying round is over. The two race drivers who should ideally finish as 1-2 on the podium to maximize the points you can get, and a team that earns the maximum points in the race wins.
- Hey this is easy.. I am gonna top the thing lol.. (I know you thinking you gonna select Alonso, Schumacher and Renault! Sorry for the dampner but thats hardly possible!)
- Basically all the teams and the drivers have some price associated with them. You have to select your 4 choices in sucha a manner so that you do not exceed your budget. Your total budget for a race is fixed and right now stands at 1000. You have to select your 4 choices in such a manner so that the total price of the 4 choices is equal to or less than 1000.
- Once you have your team selected, you got one more decision to make. You can choose to take part in the XtraRisk. You can also choose not to take part but that would mean people calling your move rather cowardly and you will also forfeit any chance of earning some xtra points which might help you win in the end.
- If you haven't choosen to take part in xtrarisk this step is not for you.. shoo off!!
If you have taken part by clicking on the checkbox you are immeditaely shown two more select boxes. Here you are asked to choose two more drivers.
- A fastest Lap driver
- A driver who will retire first in the main race
The first choice basically is a driver who you think will have the fastest lap time during the race. The second choice involves a selection of a driver who you think will be the first to retire in the main race. Remember there can only be one winner for both the fields. Either you will win full or you will suffer a points penalty(yep thats why you can choose not to take part in XtraRisk!). The penalty at the moment is 50 points.
- Hit Submit (Hey thats a figure of speech.. i mean click!! can't trust people these days!) and you will be taken back to your team page where you can see all the drivers and the team you selected.
Congrats. You have managed to select your team.
Please note that once the race qulification has started, you will not be able to change or edit your team till the race is over. The status of the Event will be shown as closed to avoid any last minute editing or cheating. This event will remain closed till the race is over.
