To tag or not to tag!
As you might well be aware, with the upgrade, one of the things i did was to clear up the old tags. The reason was that the earlier tags were organized in a complete hotch potch manner with anyone tagging a thread with virtually anything.
We hope to change that with the new tag system. Now please note that only some usergroups can tag a thread anyway. (Mods, Admins and some senior members.)
Now please go through the following thumb rules
BEFORE you tag any thread.
- When in photoshoots(western, indian or bollywood events) please tag the thread with the celeb name. Celeb name is a must. Please use correct spellings and if the celeb was tagged before, you will be shown a auto recommendation too. USE THAT!

In above, a celeb name is there and other tags are "adding value" as those are terms people might be interested to in searching and sorting all threads in that section with.
- When in other sections, use common sense. Generic names are of absolutely no use. Here is a badly tagged thread

Why would a person ever want to search for the first two words? Third is still fine. AVOID THIS TYPE OF TAGGING. - Try to tag so that the end user actually benefits. Not just a nonsense generic word tag. eg, here is a thread in jokes that i tagged. If anyone wants to look for santa banta jokes, he clicks that tag and he is shown all santa banta jokes. (or sardarji jokes)

And no need to add generic forum title tags also. A thread in cricket forum need not have a tag named "cricket". If its related to a series, tag it by a series name or tour name and please try to maintain consistency of spellings for all such related threads in future. (Use automatically suggested recommendations.
Please don't tag for the heck of it.
Not tagging a thread is better than tagging it badly.
When you tag, think, what i am tagging a thread with, will people ever search for these words? So please use common sense! (Like no need to tag this thread!)
Quality over Quantity!!
