Hi guys ,

Am i the only one who is sick and tired of all the reposts on FE ? It has happened to me on so many occasions now , I post a thread only to find out that it has already been posted before thanks to the similar threads feature which is only visible once you post the thread. It gets really annoying after sometime. As you know posting a thread especially with images is a time taking process , tell me then how would you feel when you come to know that the thread you have been working on for so much time has already been posted before. It just feels like a massive waste of time.


You have to do something about this sardar. FE is such a massive fast growing community , its not possible to keep track of each and every thread. Introduce some new feature so that we shall come to know before posting a thread , if its been posted before. Maybe when we give the title to our thread a popup should appear mentioning similar titles that have been posted before. This way at least we will not waste time posting same stuff !!

I do a search before i post the same stuff with similar thread titles.
That does help many times.

There is no real solution to this other than doing a search.

Do a google search with a full sentence before your post.(use the google search in the navbar which is restricted to FE). I have noticed google does a very good job of isolating individual posts and can match full sentences posted in the past.

If the old thread as unpopular,(ie no one replied or saw or only 1-2 guys did, go ahead and repost anyway. No harm

Even I do that but the google search works like only 50%of the times.

How about getting rid of the similar thread feature ?

Well similar threads help people find similar content
Guests i mean so it just gets them more involved

As i said if it can't be helped, don't fret about it. If google search doesn't return anything and you post, let it be Its not as if we -ve rep you

Search is the only option i feel. A simple search from FE does the trick.
If you find the thread already there, just bump it up Lets save some space

Similar feature thread is a must. It helps a lot of ppl
