How about building a good movies database.
We have the "last movie you saw thread"
And saiyan suggested an excellent thing of ratings.

What if we do this. Instead of directly posting there, you post to a differnt form. That will also post to the same thread, but that way we are able to aggregate the data of movies with ratings and maybe a brief comment(review)

It will be possible then to show what everyone is watching, plus build a good db of interesting pictures with ratings..

Would you have discrete rating tabs for direction/storyline etc or just one single rating tab.

Also we can either group it movie wise or user wise.

For ex. once someone mentions a movie and rates it, other users can also keep appending both their rating & one-liner to it.

Also we can have that thumbnail along - especially once i always leech from imdb

excellent idea there.. and dipdude's suggestion above is equally good.
Although imo keep max 2 or just one rating tab. Gets a little hard for sometime watchers like me to rate on diff parameters
