Fergie appetite undiminished

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists his appetite to succeed remains undiminished despite his lengthy career at the pinnacle of English football.

The 68-year-old Scot is close to celebrating his 23rd anniversary at the helm of the Old Trafford club, but is still refusing to contemplate retirement.

Ferguson has won 11 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups and two Champions League crowns during his time at the helm of the Red Devils.

"When you manage this club there is an expectation every day," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"It keeps you on your toes. There is an easy motivation here.

"There is the expectation of the club and the players you have to deal with.

"There are some terrific players here. Then it becomes part of the process. It is easy to buy into.

"That makes it very easy to keep the motivation all the time."
