Pato renews contract with Milan AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club have renewed the contract of striker Alexandre Pato.
Galliani broke the news to Milan Channel explaining that "Pato has renewed his contract with Milan for the next five years."
The news should be a confidence booster for the Brazilian, who, after scoring a brace in the first game of the season, has not found the net since and has struggled to make an impact on the pitch.
The extended deal also demonstrates the faith that the Rossoneri have in the youngster, believing that he is represents both the present and future of the club.
The player affectionately known as 'The Duck' has been lauded by many as the 'next big thing' - and famously prompted former teammate David Beckham to declare: "I have seen him in training and on the pitch. He is only 19 years of age and I think he can become one of the greatest players in the world."
Tying the player to a long term deal should also help ward-off any unwanted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, all of whom have been linked with the player in the past.
