Sheikh completes City takeover Manchester City have announced Sheikh Mansour has completed a full buy-out of the club, acquiring Thaksin Shinawatra’s final ten percent stake.
The Sheikh first bought the club from the former Thailand prime minister last season through the Abu Dhabi United Group.
Shinawatra opted to keep a ten percent stake in the Sky Blues but the Eastlands outfit have stated that Mansour has bought that portion as well, giving him full control of the Manchester club.
"As a result of the transaction, Manchester City is now 100 per cent owned by his highness Sheikh Mansour," said a club statement.
Sheikh Mansour has already poured in funds into the club, giving the green light to a British record £32.5million deal for Robinho on the day he acquired the club and has spent over £120million on transfers in the last offseason.
It has been reported that he is also eager to convert the land around the City of Manchester Stadium into the club's new state-of-the-art training facility. ---------------------------------------------- |
