Andrew Leci gives his extra-time report from Wembley.

"Half time in extra time and Spurs are in front. It's all about the decision made by Ramos to bring on Kaboul for Keane. Spurs will have to sit back. Can they hang on?"



End of Extra-time first-period Chelsea are in the unfamiliar position of being behind in a Cup final. Can the Blues turn this around or will Spurs win the first trophy of the season?


101 min - Keane has been replaced by Kaboul as Ramos looks to shore up Spurs' defence.


100 min - CHANCE! Lampard nearly catches Robinson off-guard with free-kick.


98 min - Joe Cole is going to be introduced. Can he make a difference?


94 min - GOAL! Woodgate scores off a free-kick as Cech punched air! Actually, he punched the ball straight onto Woodgate's head. Spurs are ahead! It's his first goal for Spurs in his only fourth appearance for the London club (White ones that is). Can Spurs hold their nerves?

"Before the equaliser, you could hear a pin drop! The place roared back to life as Berbatov scored! The fans cheered Zokora despite his miss and won't mind buying him a beer after the game!"



Extra-time By the way, Blackburn beat Bolton by four goals to one. McCarthy had a brace, Bentley scored with his head and Pedersen got the fourth. Kevin Davies scored for Bolton.



Andrew Leci gives his half-time report from Wembley.

"1-1 at full time, and no surprises. It would have been cruel for Spurs to lose, and Robbie Keane could have nicked it at the death. The tension at Wembley is almost unbearable as we head into extra time, but the Spurs fans are definitely in the ascendant."


90 min - CHANCE! Keane tries a spectacular over-head kick but it went over the bar.


88 min - CHANCE! Lampard with a shooting chance just inside the box but Zokora puts the England man off. Extra-time is looming in this game.


85 min - A great pass from Lampard releases Drogba but the ball bounces away from the Ivorian. Michael Ballack is coming on for Essien.


82 min - Another chance goes begging. Wonderful save by Cech from Berbatov who gained a yard of space. Spurs are turning the screw on Chelsea!


80 min - CHANCE! Zokora was clean through on goal but he missed the chance - twice! His hands are on his face and so are Spurs fans. It was a great chance! Great pass by Keane. Maybe Zokora could have passed to Berbatov. Will there be a goal from open play today?


75 min - Tainio has come on for Malbranque while Kalou has come on for Wright-Phillips.



Spurs goal has got AL excited!

"Just when Chelsea looked to be in control of this match, Spurs equalise. It looked like a controversial decision, but what a confident penalty from Berbatov. I know it's a cliche but, game on!"



67 min - PENALTY and Berbatov scores! Spurs have found their second wind! Chelsea's Wayne Bridge handles the ball and the assistant referee took a while to give it. Berbatov cooly took the penalty, sending Cech the wrong way.


Blackburn too have scored and they are 3-1 up at Ewood Park.


61 min - King gets away with a careless back-pass as Wright-Phillips nearly gets to his under-hit pass. Robinson clears the danger. Spurs immediately counter-attack but Jenas loses his footing at the crucial moment!


And GOAL for Blackburn! They have retaken the lead in their game against Bolton!


60 min - Huddlestone replaces Chimbonda and the latter heads straight into the dressing room. Guess he's not to happy with the tactical subsitution.


58 min - Lennon finally gets to show his dribbling skills and gives Bridge a run-around. Corner conceded but Drogba clears - he's the man-of-the-match so far. He's everywhere! Huddlestone is set to come on for Spurs.


55 min - Play is being congested in the middle so far and wingers Lennon and Wright-Phillips are not getting involved in the game at all!


49 min - Zokora tries to redeem himself - but his shot flies over the crossbar. Meanwhile, Drogba is injured and is being given treatment off the pitch. He's alright though.

"Spurs start the second half in catch-up mode, and will wonder why. Once again chelsea demonstrate how to produce a disappointing 45 minutes of football, but still come out on top. There should be a lot more action in the second period." We hope so as well.



49 min - GOAL! For Bolton! They have equalised against Blackburn.


46 min - Spurs to start the second half.



Half-time: Chelsea 1-0 Spurs: Spurs create more chances but it is Chelsea who take the lead. Chelsea have been out-played but they out-score Spurs. Can Tottenham come back from this? Or will Chelsea who usually go on to win whenever they take the lead go on to lift the League Cup?


Just in from Singapore's Spurs supporters' club who are watching the game LIVE at a hotel, Vincent Lai gives his view from the festives.


"The Tottenham fans are singing and chanting right throughout the game and even though their team is behind, they believe Spurs can win it in the second-half!"


On the goal, the fans also believe two players were at fault. "Almost all of them thinks Robinson was out of position for the goal and it was an unnecessary free-kick conceded by Zokora!"



43 min - Chance! A great pass by Keane gave Berbatov a great sight of goal but the Buglarian's touch deserts him! Spurs fans ae baying for a penalty.


40 min - An almost immediate reply from Tottenham! Keane has a gilt-edged chance to equalise for Spurs but the chance goes begging.


39 min - GOAL! Zokora makes another clumsy challenge - this time on Drogba. The Ivorian makes a meal of the tackle and gets Zokora booked. Drogba this time makes no mistake with the free-kick! Robinson did not even move! Drogba is the first player in the League Cup to score in three finals!.


30 min - Chance for Chelsea! But Drogba wastes the free-kick.


25 min - GOAL! For Blackburn, that is. Benni McCarthy scores with a penalty.


17 min - Chance for Woodgate! Over the bar. Terry's foul on Berbatov earned Spurs a free-kick. Jenas's free-kick finds Woodgate but he could not convert the chance. Tottenham still asks the questions.


16 min - It's still 0-0 in the other BPL game going on at the same time. Blackburn and Bolton.


10 min - Belletti has a shot at goal but it is blocked. By Drogba.


7 min - Berbatov again asks questions of the Chelsea defence with another half-chance for Spurs. Chelsea are forced into errors!


6 min - Chimbonda's header hits the crossbar! It was more of a hopeful looping header than anythinge else.


5 min - Anelka is being wasted on the left flank as Drogba takes the center while Wright-Phillips takes the right. No threat from this trio so far. Drogba has been busy marking King at corners!


3 min - Spurs players are quicker to every ball and they are stroking the ball around confidently.


1 min - Suicidal play from Chelsea gave Robbie Keane a great chance but his shot is deflected for a corner. King skies the resulting set-piece. Great start!

Our man at the scene, Andrew Leci is soaking up the atmosphere as a sea of blue and white balloons and flags dominate Wembley.


He says:"The atmosphere inside Wembley stadium is electric with 15 minutes to kick off. Spurs fans are scratching their chins in contemplation at the announcement that Drogba and Anelka are starting for Chelsea, but there's a carnival feel to the occassion and supporters are mixing well. The new Wembley is a fantastic arena for football. Everyone is hoping for a great match!"



This may be the lunar year of the Rat but the League Cup is no Mickey Mouse cup as many would say.


Tottenham's manager Juande Ramos wants the win badly to end Spurs' ten-year wait for a trophy. While Chelsea's Avram Grant also needs this victory to get his doubtors off his back.
