Well qualifying just finished...

kimi came in first with schumi second followed by heidfeld and massa.alonso came in 5th due to a puncture which spoilt his run a bit . he was pretty close to the ferraris till then

bmws showed some good straight line speed and both their cars are in the top 8 so they'll be a team to watch as well along with the renaults ferraris and mclarens

so far the race looks unpredictable which is the way it should be

(hope its not the usual thing though with kimi blowing up and alonso making a flying start etc etc

well for starters lets pray kimi has a good start

then pray he does not hit into anyone
then pray he gets a good pit stop
and finally his engine holds till last lap

umm ~~ ll that is serious after what kimi has been through

But Alonso WILL make a flying start....those renaults are amazing off the starting line....

And I really really hope and pray that Kimi and Massa place between Schumi (who I hope wins the race) and Alonso.... only then will hope remain for Schumi.....

And with rumours of Schumi retiring, he simply HAS to win this time !!

alonso penalized for blocking massa
he starts at 10th now.

smtime i wonder what is it between ferrari and FIA coz i saw alonso was driving full speed during that lap and thers no question of blocking massa. alonso was more worried abt getting a timed lap in as less than 5 secs were remaining when he started his final lap.

QF the exact reason seems to be that Alonso did not yield when he came out of his pit-stop and Massa was on his flying lap. Good enuf reason especially for guys who have bet on Schumi to win the race

Massa, teammate to Alonso's title rival Michael Schumacher, complained that his flying lap was baulked because Alonso refused to yield after leaving the pits.

Renault sources explained that Alonso had to rush his out lap due to his unscheduled visit to the pits to replace a damaged rear tyre.

Ferrari's Ross Brawn bemoaned: ''Felipe got blocked on his run, which was a great shame as he could certainly have improved on where he is.''

i agree.. only thing i can think of to complain about is maybe having a driver in front especially a rival is distracting.. but no reason to give a penalty like that.. the really need to standardize the stewards judgements too many vagaries from race to race

i m sure if alonso had let massa past massa would have made things difficult for him on alonsos hot lap to get past and i dont think the italian stewards would have said anything then

heh thats no guarantee of anything.. nowadays all seem to find it pretty easy to make up places on the grid. even ppl who start dead last are ending on the podium some times
