Sorry for the delayed report. Been really sick for the past few days. Still am actually
Anyway, as usual a Ferrari is on pole but unusually, a Renault is in 2nd !! Crybaby Alonso seems to have stopped his whining for a while at least and surprise !! It can actually get him some good results. Of course, he is very low on fuel as confirmed by Pat Symonds. In spite of this, this is actually very good news for Renault.
After that, it's again back to the predictable. Massa in 3rd, Kubica in 4th, Hamilton in 5th followed by his McLaren teammate Kovalainen in 6th, Webber in 7th for RBR, Trulli 8th for Toyota. Toyota and RBR have been really consistent. I am expecting them to at least score a podium in the next couple of years if they keep up this rate of improvement. Heidfeld was very disappointing in the BMW and qualified only 9th ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr in 10th.
The race is going to be very interesting. It is obvious that Crybaby will move down the grid quite rapidly. Massa's race depends on how soon he can get past the Renault.
The McLarens dont have a chance at all unless all the 4 cars ahead of them run into major problems.
The scary part for McLaren team and their supporters is that BMW seem to be consistently faster than them ! It's not just a flash in the pan.
One of the major surprises was Force India in 19th and 20th positions. They performed pretty well in Free practice and in testing and to see them above only Super Aguri is not encouraging at all.
