Alister McRae replaces Colin at Race of Champions
Alister McRae will replace his late brother Colin alongside David Coulthard in Scotland's team at this year's Race of Champions event at Wembley.
Colin McRae was killed along with his five-year-old son Johnny in a helicopter accident near his home in September.
Coulthard paid tribute to his friend by racing in the Japanese Grand Prix with McRae's racing colours on his helmet.
“It will be difficult to be there but when Colin competed he always put on a good show,” said Alister, who was the British Rally Champion in 1995 and an RoC finalist in 1998.
“It was one of the things the fans loved about him.
"As far as Colin was concerned, it was about driving as quick as possible and being spectacular. Being there in his place will be difficult for me but hopefully we will do him proud.”
The RoC's organisers are also planning tributes to McRae during the show.
"Losing Colin was a tragedy," said Fredrik Johnsson, President of event organisers IMP.
"Colin was one of the sport’s best-loved competitors and a very good friend so we want to pay tribute to him at Wembley Stadium, as does the international line up of drivers and all the British fans."
