Only two races into the 2008 Formula One season, rumours are connecting Fernando Alonso to a drive with Ferrari in 2009.

"I always try to be in the best car," the former champion said in Malaysia, where the second grand prix took place on Sunday.

"I'm at Renault now because I wanted to go back to winning, like in 2005 and 2006. But I have an option to leave so I can still be in the best possible car, and it is clear that Ferrari's is one of the best."

The Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is under pressure after poor performances in Australia and Malaysia, even though he has a contract until 2010.

"It's early to talk about moves and rumours, but Massa has had two bad races with mistakes and that has kicked off speculation," Alonso said. "It's logical, but as I said, it's too early."

Everyone wants the fast car, as it's the only way to win a world championship so let Alonso go to Ferrari. Yo alonso is coming, make way

dont think anyone will admit to anything this early in the season. ferrari said massa and kimi have iron clad contracts for next year.. and they even rejected the vettel rumours

actually lot of ppl especially italian press (and members on FE) immediately start all sorts of rumours when the #2 driver doesnt perform

Alonso is an idiot. Ultimately even Renault will tire of him, and then he will be forced to race for some lowly team that will pay him well, but provide him a sucky car (remember that idiot Villeneuve racing for BAR?)

he maybe arrogant but hes a darn good driver. i dont think ferrari would want him there with raikonnen around but other than that i doubt that any team would really refuse him
