Honestly, Kimi had such a long shot and in a way, I guess that's why he won.
He had nothing to lose. He just had to win. And Ferrari went after it with a vengeance. It showed. they finished 1 minute ahead of the McLarens.
@Apex --- Please do go through the posts I made in this thread regarding WHY Yamamoto was placed ahead of Fisi.

@Nikhil: Yamamoto hit Fisichella from behind and he was still driving it. Yamamoto had to regain balance before putting his car back on track. That's what I saw and from this evidence, we can say Fisi was the first one to come into pits followed by Yamamoto and Fisi was the first to retire, not Yamamoto. It has been confirmed by the official timings/results. Now if you (and Safin) need your points, you'll have to provide video evidence of Yamamoto coming into pits and retiring before Fisi else I'll say "Cheating! Cheating!".
we have discussed that issue with actual f1 evidence and Fisi came into pits after Yamamoto. The fact is both had the intention to carry on the race and fisi came after yamamoto in the pits.

I'd like to watch/read the "actual f1 evidence" as to how you know that Fisi came into pits after Yamamoto. The pic provided by Nikhil serves no evidence.

Re: Brazilian Grand Prix 2007
Well, i tried to get more info on this retirement and almost all forums lists fisichella as first retirement. What Nikihil says seems to be right but then the very logic of retirement is flawed if u consider who comes into pits first. Coz even though Fisichella came behind yamamoto, we cant really say who pitted first as renault's team is first place because of last year championship and yamamoto's in last. But then, no harm done as it doesn't really matter coz everything is virtual + if we really follow what f1 says then we should have followed lotsa things which we have not. Really boils down who is desperate for the points. lol

I just went thru the posts in concern. However, I am not convinced with Nikhil's and Safin's argument. Yamamoto might've retired first, but cross-check with what the F1 rules say. Like Lewis n Alonso have scored equal points and equal number of race wins. So Lewis was awarded the 'First Loser' based on the number of second places he has won. There is a clear-cut ruling for that.
In the absence of any such explicit ruling, its safe to edict the 'OFFICIAL' F1 standings as final and binding.
There ought to be a clear set of rules commanding over Fantasy F1. Coz, seriously, this is getting "parochial," with weird (seemingly flaky, at times) set of rules governing at present.
my 2 rants worth
Next season, perhaps I shud do what XT does. Couldn't be bothered with Fantasy F1
