As of now,

Hamilton is on pole for his home Grand Prix, Kimi Raikkonen is 2nd. Crybaby is 3rd and Massa is 4th.

Kubica is 5th and Ralf Schumacher has surprised everyone with 6th place. He seems to be driving like a man possessed. He has a point to prove to all his critics who claimed that he was under pressure to retain his race seat.

Kovalainen in 7th and Fisichella in 8th.

Heidfeld must be disappointed with his 9th place and Trulli in 10th.

The stunning thing is this.

Hamilton on pole --- 1:19.997
Heidfeld in 9th place --- 1:20.894.

Less than a second among the top 9 !! Very close.... Looks like all the cars are very close on performance. And if it rains tomorrow, the race could turn out to be a lottery !!

Looks like this time the old timers are stronger.. meaning Alonso faster in q1 q2.. and Kimi faster then Massa.. According to the timings looks like Alonso made a mistake in S1.. but I really cant say until the highlights air at 11.30 (thank you very much star sports ) ..

Kimi has stepped up the pace by the looks of it. And either Alonso has too or Massa did some mistakes.

Anyway good qualifying for me but by the looks of things, if you are playing xtrarisk, and fastest driver, best bet was ferrari (i hope not though )

the times were all pretty close so i think a lots going to depend on the first corner. whoever makes it in first to turn 1 should have it slightly easier

a mistake frm kimi in the last corner cost him the pole position..
otherwise it was a stunning lap...i think hamilton is light on fuel
it was a move by mclaren to please all british supporters

err how did you know? you saw the qualifying?

espn and star sucks...shame that they think tennis and cricket are bigger than f1
