Game set and match to Lewis
Faced with another year of no British hope heading into the second fortnight of Wimbledon, organisers have asked if Lewis Hamilton can play tennis.
Said our source close to the Lawn Tennis Association: “There are hopes that Hamilton will accept a wild card entry to take part in the championship.”
He added: “We’ve no idea if he can play or how he’d handle the likes of a Roger Federer, but he’s bound to be brilliant.”
As an incentive to the best thing to come out of Stevenage since the A1, tennis officials have offered to change the name of the viewing spot known as ‘Henman’s Hill’ (or ‘Murray's Field’, depending on whoever happens to be clinging on to the second round at the time) to ‘Hamilton’s Hump’ in the hope of keeping the hordes of flag-waving, screaming housewives happy.
