Massa not willing to back Kimi yet
Felipe Massa says he would have no qualms about supporting team-mate Kimi Raikkonen's title bid – but only once his own championship chances are mathematically over.
Raikkonen is now seven points ahead of Massa in the standings, with the pair 13 and 20 points respectively behind leader Lewis Hamilton with three rounds to go.
Massa must therefore out-score Hamilton, and not lose more than two points to Fernando Alonso, at Fuji to remain in contention.
In the Michael Schumacher era Ferrari operated a strict driver hierarchy, with Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello and Massa all working to help Schumacher's championship challenge during their sojourns at the team.
But Ferrari has allowed Massa and Raikkonen to fight it out this year, and Massa says this will continue all the time both have a shot at the crown.
"I have to think about the team, thinking to do the most to help the team whenever I can," he said.
"In that situation, if one driver no longer has the chance of winning, then he must concentrate on just working for the good of the team to help it win.
"But at the moment, I still have a chance of taking the title."
Massa also dismissed rumours that he could make a shock switch to Toyota next year to make room for Alonso at Ferrari if the world champion parts ways with McLaren.
"I would be very interested to know who saw my manager in Toyota," Massa was quoted as saying by Reuters.
"Everybody says people saw him there but he was not there.
"I have never been to the Toyota motorhome either.
"When you have a contract that finishes [at the end of] next year, why should I go and speak with other teams?
"I don't want to.
"I am really happy in Ferrari and I would like to finish my career in Ferrari."
