Sir Richard's boys go one and two in the first GP of the 2009 season

Brawn Mercedes have scored with Jenson Button & Ruben Barrichello going first and second with Toyota coming in at third...

So pleased for Button especially, since this is only his second win in 154 starts..............

Brawn really outperformed everyone......and it was a surprise for everyone.

What to say about Vettel Poor guy, felt bad for him
he raced so well, until that Kubica to spoil it for him

Btw KERS didn't show much of an advantage. Both the Brawn are not even using it and Button was phenomenal at the start.

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from the Australian Formula One Grand Prix on Thursday for giving misleading evidence to race stewards.

The McLaren driver was awarded third place after the season-opening GP when stewards ruled Toyota's Jarno Trulli breached regulations by passing Hamilton during a safety car period in Melbourne on Sunday.

A hearing into the matter was convened by the motor sport world governing body FIA, interviewed both drivers and teams, and heard new evidence which included radio transmissions between teams and drivers in Melbourne, as well as technical data from the race.

After deliberating for several hours, FIA released a statement which said Hamilton and McLaren "acted in a manner prejudicial to the conduct of the event by providing evidence deliberately misleading to the stewards."

Trulli was reinstated to his original third-place finish Thursday, while Hamilton and McLaren were excluded from the results and receive no points.

The crapness by the f1 authorities continues.
What a sham of a start to the season. We had a great race but off the race action has taken the sheen off it.

First they put Hamilton in 3rd place even though the so called "video evidence" of his already existed on tape then also. Now 4 days on, they say Hamilton and McLaren didn't tell them the full picture(btw why McLaren didn't beats me ) and they disqualify them

Stupidity alert.

ps: We have also had a fine on Hamilton for speeding in the pit lane.
