Well, qualifying is over and it has been totally and utterly dominated by McLaren.

Alonso is on pole position and Hamilton is in 2nd. Massa is 3rd while his team mate Kimi Raikkonen crashed and damaged his front suspention and steering. He crashed at the EXACT same corner where Michael Schumacher stalled his Ferrari last year.

As a result of his shunt, Kimi is starting way down in 15th position.

And McLaren boss Ron Dennis has revealed that both the McLaren drivers are on different fuel strategies. This could be interesting as the pace was very very similar. I believe that Hamilton is carrying a bit more fuel. He was carrying a bit more fuel in the last race too.

Fisichella indicated a Renault fightback with a good drive for 4th place.

5. ROSBERG --------Williams
6. WEBBER ------Red Bull
7. HEIDFELD------BMW
8. KUBICA ------ BMW
9. BARRICHELLO----Honda
10. BUTTON ------Honda

Coulthard's Q2 time was disqualified for blocking Heikki Kovalainen. Kovalainen was flying and was actually faster than Hamilton uptil the point he came upon Coulthard. The punishment may seem harsh but I was seeing the qualifying and I think DC deserved it.

Due to this, Coulthard will be starting in 16th position.

The front is very clear though. The McLarens are expected to be very fast and totally own the race. Of course, Ferrari might have an ace up their sleeve, but I doubt it. It will be a long afternoon for Kimi.

This by the way is the first time this season a Ferrari is not on pole.

Yohooo..

a complete domination by Mclaren..

McLaren's Fernando Alonso won a no-holds-barred battle with team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win the Monaco Grand Prix for the second year in a row.

The world champion drove a race of breathtakingly relentless speed to break Hamilton's challenge and re-take the lead in the world championship.

The two men were in a race of their own, with Ferrari driver Felipe Massa unable to keep pace in third place.

Giancarlo Fisichella gave Renault their best result of the year with fourth.

The result leaves Alonso and Hamilton level on 38 points at the head of the championship, which the double world champion leads by virtue of his two wins to Hamilton's none.

Englishman Hamilton was impressive on his debut at one of Formula One's most demanding tracks, but he had no answer to a masterclass from Alonso.

The Spaniard displayed his trademark consistent pace and decided the race with a series of stunning laps before his final pit stop.

Well Kimi sure brought great luck to Ferrari good work kimi.. you are a pal

Go Mclaren Go...

No MS = Crappy race. Did watch the whole thing.

And this time around, I aint supporting any driver, but am still with ferrari as a team for constructors.

Hamilton is doing well for a Rookie. I say he would have been a better choice for Ferrari compared to Raikonnen.

BTW, some interesting glimpses of MS during the race

i'd say it was the most exciting race of this season till now. sure mclaren decimated the entire field but still it was fun to watch all through. congrats to mclaren and their two drivers. once again, i'm surprised by their reliability this season but the law of averages will soon catch up.

as for kimi, it was a big mistake in q2 which truly ended his monaco challenge then and there. its impossible to win from 16th at monaco and kimi did the best he could. with 50 laps of fuel on board, i wasn't expecting him to go for any brave overtaking moves. he did a smart race but that simply wasn't enough. kimi is going through a bad phase but he'll come good for sure. in this situation, kimi needs your support and all you kimi supporters are turning your back. thats not done! be optimistic and have patience!
