Contrary to statements being made in the
press by Force India head Vijay Mallya and more recently by Narain Karthikeyan, F1 boss has clarified that while f1 happening in India is a reality,
it won't happen before the year 2011, at the earliest.
With India set to host the 2010 Commonwealth Games, former Williams ace and current A1GP World Cup of Motorsport star Karthikeyan had claimed that there was insufficient infrastructure and funding to also hold a grand prix close to the capital city of Delhi.
Ecclestone, president and chief executive of Formula One Management, however said in Singapore in an interview that there was no way the race can be held in the year 2010 in India and India can only hope to see a f1 race only in 2011 and that too if all goes well so far as infrastructure development goes.
There goes the dream to see f1 in India

As it is i highly doubt how they will procure that much of land for a dedicated circuit. You cannot possibly have a street circuit in India

and acquiring so much of land for a f1 race that hardly anyone among the masses watches will be tough.
