Norbert Haug has rejected reports that McLaren have held talks with Williams' Nico Rosberg and Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel.

Double World Champion Alonso is strongly being linked with a move away from McLaren and the Woking team's search for a team-mate for Lewis Hamilton is set to get into full swing once the season concludes at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

And Haug, the chief of Mercedes-Benz motorsport told Deutsche Presse-Agentur that the Woking team have not held talks with Rosberg and Vettel.

"So there is no confusion, there are no talks," Haug said.

"Whether one of them drives for us one day, I do not know - they are both good enough. Their destiny lies in their own hands."
