Schu's fortunes to improve - If weather forecast proves correct

Michael Schumacher is hoping that Ferrari's weather man is right about Sunday.

The Ferrari driver, who qualified a poor sixth on uncompetitive Bridgestone wets at Shanghai, told reporters at the scene of the Chinese grand prix that he expects better conditions for the race.

But his information conflicts with that of several other teams, who are expecting a high chance of Sunday rain.

A reporter also asked Schumacher, 37, whether he was bothered about a Renault engineers' radio call - captured live on worldwide television - sarcastically saying 'poor old Michael' when it became clear that the German would not be near pole.

''I can live with that,'' Schumacher said, albeit clearly disappointed with the lack of pace at his third-to-last ever F1 event.

Technical director Ross Brawn simply had to admit that Bridgestone, much as in Hungary, cannot keep up in the wet.

''In the dry or in mixed conditions we have a chance,'' said Ferrari's technical director, ''because in the dry Michael is quickest.''

Michael Schumacher pulled off an unlikely victory in China on Sunday to move into the lead of the 2006 drivers’ championship battle.

Morning rain has set up the most exciting of spectacles and Renault’s Fernando Alonso looked to be cruising to the win when he pulled out an early 25 second lead.

However a mixture of bad decisions, hard luck, and a lack of pace saw the Spaniard surrender and Schumacher move through to claim the chequer.

Alonso managed to hold onto second after a late charge putting both men on a total of 116 points (Schumacher leads through total victories) with two races remaining.

This was a truly special drive....

Now, all the Schumi haters will come out and say he won only because Alonso's nut was stuck in the pits(pun intended...purposeful grammatical error )...

But the fact is, due to the wheel problem, Alonso lost 10 secs..... when all the regular pitstops were over, he was almost 20 secs behind Schumi....

So, no way Alonso would have won the race...he lost the race thanks to Renault's brilliant strategy of not chabging his rear tyres

Wonder how Alonso will be feeling that he has to shift to McLaren next season....seeing McLaren's woeful record Serves him right, the pathetic loser

PS: Where is the Anti-Schumi brigade.... it's a sunday, and they still arent here making up silly and sillier reasons why Schumi isnt the best
