agree with whatever the author wrote. Alonso should start driving well. What he speaks is immaterial. Problem is he is being beaten fair and square by his team mate
although i just hope Hamilton keeps his head too. It doesn't take long for all this to come crashing down ..

Re: Thread for Alonso's inevitable cribbing
Perfect write up there!
and for those who conveniently missed:
But he seems to be from the same mould as Schumi and will probably display the ability to drive around a problem when he faces one.
thats well-deserved credits to the gr8 driver Schumi is!

Alonso says Hamilton his clone
After qualifying third at Silverstone, Fernando Alonso admitted that beating his rookie team-mate Lewis Hamilton to the 2007 title is going to be difficult.
To the Spanish news agency EFE, the reigning world champion said this championship fight is harder than the last two because one of his strongest qualities is no longer an advantage.
"I am not going to have an advantage even on the circuits that I am better at," the 25-year-old said, "because all of my information passes straight to him.
"So that advantage has disappeared. Recovering points is very complicated when alongside you there is a clone."
Alonso said 'almost all' of his 14 point deficit to Hamilton happened due to bad luck in Canada and France, where he finished in distant seventh places.
He revealed that a 'small possibility' to beat crowd favourite and pole sitter Hamilton to the chequered flag today exists because he will stop a lap or two later than the sister silver car.
Alonso said: "I will see if I can do what Kimi did last week.”
"I have a better chance than at some other races when I was further back and had more fuel. Now I am third with a little bit more fuel (than Hamilton), so for sure I am going to go for it.
"But we cannot forget Ferrari. In the race I think they are still a little bit quicker than us"

Re: Thread for Alonso's inevitable cribbing
Although Alonso won the race in quite spectacular fashion, the atmosphere between him and Ron seemed rather cold afterwards – Fernando even fenced off a hug from his boss. What’s going on at McLaren?

Dear Davy
Yes, I too thought Alonso was a bit reluctant to hug Ron Dennis.
Ron is somewhere between a rock and a hard place in that Fernando seems convinced that he wants Lewis to win the championship and Hamilton thinks Ron wants Alonso to win.
Fernando is a difficult one to get to know. He has a very close-knit Spanish pack around him and he seems to operate almost in a bubble enjoying their company whilst appearing outwardly rather cool.
I really do wonder if Ron made promises to Fernando to lure him from Renault which subsequently Lewis’s amazing pace has made it difficult to deliver, and that has been the crux of the problem.
Ron can be quite challenging to like too when he’s wearing his ‘winning blinkers’.
This is from a Q&A session with MArtin Brundle.

Re: Thread for Alonso's inevitable cribbing
Crybaby gets into action again !!
Alonso: I don't see anything given back
Fernando Alonso feels he has not received due recognition from McLaren for his role in the team’s success this year.
Even as he toed the party line that he and team-mate Lewis Hamilton have buried the hatchet after their public falling-out at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Alonso was unwilling to let McLaren’s continued insistence on treating its two drivers equally pass without comment.
The world champion stressed his own contribution to the Woking team's resurgence this year after a 2006 season in which it was outperformed by both Ferrari and Renault.
“I think that is always very clear in every team, to have equal opportunities to everybody and to have an equal car to your team-mate,” Alonso said.
“What I think sometimes, and what I ask the team, is that I gave the team a lot when I arrived in December.
“I remember the car I drove; I remember the results they had in 2006.
“And now I brought to the team half a second, six-tenths or whatever, and I don’t see anything given me back. That’s the only thing.”
Alonso admitted earlier this year that his relationship with McLaren had not yet gelled in the way that he had hoped, and the Hungarian GP debacle put it under renewed strain – even though Hamilton bore the brunt of the team’s public criticism for disobeying team orders.
The Spaniard is contracted to McLaren until the end of 2009, but many paddock insiders doubt that the team will be able to keep him and Hamilton together beyond this season.
In Hungary Alonso told the Spanish press that he was unsure whether he would see out the three years – but in Turkey on Friday he played down such conjecture.
“I have a long-term contract with McLaren, and at the moment I have not any hurry to move or to do anything, especially now with the championship as it is, seven points behind the leader,” he said.
“So to think about the future is not the right time now.”
