Amazed Unbelievably supernatural

This happened on January 2nd 2005 when I went to Shimla to be with a friend of mine for new years’ eve in Bishop Cotton School.

Though it sounds like something out of the X-Files or from an Alfred Hitchcock movie... it's real! A real incident that happened in my life!!

I had to reach Delhi and office on 3rd morning as we were all busy with work. I planned to come to the plains from the sharp, steep hill roads before it got dark, but I could start only after 7 PM as there was a school function in the evening. The inevitable happened when I reached the sharp bend roads. My red jeep broke down. I was stranded miles from nowhere. Having no choice I started walking on the side of the road in pitch dark, hoping to get a lift to the nearest human habitation where I can find a car repair shop. It was dark and raining and pretty soon I was wet and shivering. No car was found on this short road I chose. The rains were so strong that I could hardly see a few feet ahead of me.

Suddenly I saw a car coming towards me. It slowed and then stopped next to me. Without thinking I opened the car's door and jumped in. Seated in the back, I bent forward to thank the person who gave me lift when I realized there was nobody behind the wheel.

I was frozen!! Even though there was no one in the front seat and no sound of any engine, the car started moving slowly. I looked at the road ahead and saw a curve coming (remember, this is in the hills and there is a steep, steep drop beyond the curve). Scared almost to death I started praying, begging the Lord for my life. I had not come out of shock, when just before this car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and moved the wheel! The car made the curve safely and continued on the road to the next bend. I now paralyzed in terror, watched how the hand appeared every time the car was before a curve and moved the steering wheel just enough to get the car around each bend. It was still raining cats and dogs.

Finally, I saw lights ahead. Gathering courage I wrenched open the door of the silent, slowly moving car, scrambled out and ran as hard as I could towards the lights. It was a small town. Wet and in shock I went to a roadside dhaba, which was open, and asked for a tea. I just couldn’t control myself from the horror I experienced and started telling everyone gathered there. It took some time for them to believe that I was not insane.

A silence enveloped in the dhaba and they were all really frightened. My thoughts wandered and I even started believing supernatural scenes which I saw in recent past in movies. The dhaba owner and others were wondering what they should do, whether to call the police or find a priest, or what.

But just then two guys walked into the dhaba. One said to the other pointing his finger at me "Look, that’s the guy who got in our car when we were pushing it."

The story is all made up. The road to Shimla is anything but deserted these days and there are no dhabhas on that, instead we have exorbiantly priced restaurants
