India vs South Africa (5th ODI)
5th ODI - South Africa vs India
SuperSport Park, Centurion - Day Match
Well nothing has changed from the 4th ODI that India lost by about 80 runs. Yes India did win the Twenty - 20 encounter at the New Wanderers Stadium. But should that be extrapolated to assume that we have turned a corner and are ready to be reckoned as the Team which is on its way to top.
Honestly my answer is a thumping 'NO'. Nothing has changed and our one day form is really something which should be looked into. There have been changes like recalling of VVS Laxman for both ODI and Tests but would that be enough. In absence of Dravid, Sehwag along with the other top order batsmen need to stand up and be counted but that is not happening as fast as we would like.
The ODI series has been comprehensively won by the Proteas and there is no denying that. The last game should be considered as the flicker of hope for Indian team to redeem some form back and as a means to win some public support back home. Not to forget with World Cup approaching, this losing script has got the whole nation wondering.
Agarkar and Jaffer are out. In come VVS Laxman and Harbhajan.
May the best team win.
SA has already won the 5 match series 3 : 0 (1st ODI was abandoned due to rain)
