Lisa returns home late after a long day at office. She spends long hours at work, trying to forget the bitter memories of her ex boyfriend George. It is 11:45 PM when she parks the car in the garage. She is reminded of the first ever kiss she had with George in the car. She could feel immense pain while thinking about George. He was her love, her life and her future. She couldn’t believe that George was no more. She couldn’t forgive herself for what had happened to him. She felt guilty, "It was my mistake, I'm responsible for his death. Please forgive me god, please forgive me."
Lisa walks into her apartment and smells the perfume she had worn in the morning. Wanting to release off her tension, she visits the bathroom to attend to the nature’s call. She then gets into the shower and turns on the hot water tap. As she was enjoying the warm water flowing through her perfect body, the phone rings. Knowing it was too late for anyone to reach her, she ignores the call and finishes her bath. She puts on her night robe from the closet and goes to the kitchen to quench her thirst. She fills the glass cup with water from the jug she had on the table. When she took the first sip, she realized, it wasn’t water that she was drinking. It was blood.
Lisa pukes everything out in a state of fear and runs into her room. Frightened to death she crawls up against the wall in her room. The phone begins to ring again. The pleasant ring tone sounded like a death bell with each progressing second. She is too scared to even attend the phone call. Gathering all her guts she takes a few steps towards the hand bag and picks up her phone. The call is from an unknown number. Before she could press the answer key, the call disconnects.
Dumbstruck, she tries to understand what had just happened. She enters her home, takes bath and has a cup of water. It isn’t water but blood. How was it blood? Why was it blood? Before she could come to terms with the situation, she gets another phone call. This time the cell phone is in her hand, the call is from the same unknown number. She answers the call and hears a man's voice on the other side.
“You just tasted his blood. How do you like it? You will taste yours before midnight. See ya soon. The end is near”.
Lisa began to scream in fear. She knew it could be her last scream, ever. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 11:55 PM
Since last month, Lisa always felt that someone had been watching her closely. But she couldn’t figure out if it was true or if it was just a feeling she had. But today, the feeling was indeed a reality. Someone is after her life. But who could it be? She knew the climax wasn’t far away. In 5 minutes her life could be over.
Lisa’s mind raced past all her enemies who wanted her dead. She was an attorney who helped the needy and always fought for the righteous people. There were countless rich business people who had been put behind the bars by her. Criminals, rapists, murderers, mafia and thieves were also part of the list. She had been practicing for almost 5 years now and no one attacked or threatened her till this day. This was the first time and she didn’t know how to react.
She looked at her iPhone which read 11:58 PM. With just 2 minutes to go for midnight Lisa dials 911 and waits for the police to answer. Every second seemed like years of waiting for something to happen, for someone to answer the call. “911, what is your emergency?”
Lisa felt happy, she felt hopeful that someone was going to hear her out. But she couldn’t bring herself to describe the situation. She couldn’t say that her life was in danger. The operator on the other side was becoming restless realizing that something was wrong. " 911, what is your emergency?"
Lisa spoke feebly...
“My name is Lisa, someone is going to kill me…..”
“Calm down ma’am. Where are you calling from?”
“I’m from…..”
There is a big crash on the main door. Lisa hears footsteps approaching her room. Panic struck Lisa drops the iPhone on the phone and the call gets disconnected
Lisa could feel a tall dark figure walking towards her. She couldn’t think of anyone for help. She so wished George had been alive to save her life. “Look at me you &**&^, your time is up!”
Lisa, shivering in cold looked up at the dark face. It was George. “You will die tonight”. George slapped her hard. She fell down to the floor and went unconscious. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A month ago, when Lisa was working in her office, she got a call from George. He was sounding dull. “Honey, we need to meet…. now”.
“But George, I have this urgent meeting with a client in an hour… I don’t know…. If….”
“This is urgent Lisa. Please understand”.
“Alright.”
“Thanks, I love you. Will pick you up in an hour”
“Love you too”.
They met for dinner at Residency, Chicago. George informed Lisa that he made a terrible mistake and that led to the death of a young girl. He was a doctor and had administered a wrong dose of drug for the little girl. The death had happened in the morning and he escaped from the hospital before the police nabbed him. He wanted Lisa to defend him. But she dropped him a bombshell. She was the one defending the poor girl’s family. Just before George picked up Lisa, she had met the poor girl's family and had promised to help them. Lisa chose to represent the family before knowing that the convict was George.
George was sentenced to jail. When he was taken to the jail, his car met with an accident. The car exploded into pieces and the recovered bodies were completely burnt. No one could be identified and George was proclaimed dead. The case was closed.
Lisa was going through terrible emotional pain. She had just sacrificed her love for the sake of justice. Being an attorney she was always on the side of truth. Family or friends, she saw everyone the same way in front of law. George was no different. She used to wonder what if George hadn’t committed that mistake. They could have shared a beautiful life. But he was no more. She had to bear the pain.
George had made up a plan to escape prison life. He faked his own death by this accident with the help of some underground thugs. A group of men had blocked the road, shot the policemen guarding George, retrieved him and blew up the car at high speed thus faking an accident. Later, the bodies were burnt with gasoline to make them unidentifiable. George was dead according to the police. But he was still alive and all he had in mind was his ex-girlfriend. He wanted revenge. He wanted her dead. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lisa woke up with pain in her right leg. She couldn’t recognize the place she was in. It was dark and cold. The room was silent. She tried to move her arms to see where she was. She felt the zipper over her face. The smell of the corpse was all over the zipper. It struck her that she was inside the postmortem body bag. The smell of death was in the air and Lisa was coming to terms with it. She tried to feel the bag with her blood filled hands and found the zipper head. With all her might she pulled it open and tried to get out of the bag.
She slowly got up from the floor she was lying in. She realized that a large portion of flesh was missing from her right leg. The pain was immense that it felt like a 1000 candles being lit up and the melted wax made to fall on her skin. The walls were blood stained and she could read her name written in blood on the wall. Next to her name, a sad smiley was drawn.
She dragged herself into the next room with great difficulty. There were two doors, one wooden and another transparent white framed door with a blood stain on the door knob. Lisa chose to enter the wooden door. As she opened the door, she felt that someone else was opening from the other side. She removed her hand from the knob and took a step back. The door stood still. Suddenly, a masked man jumped from the room and pushed her down to the ground. As she was recovering, she could hear her phone ring. Crawling with immense pain, lisa moved towards the phone.
As she picked up the cell phone, it read “Good Morning Lisa, 6:45 AM”.
Lisa was glad, it was just a dream. She wipes off her sweat and gets up from the bed.
Following her routine, she enters the kitchen to drink her daily dose of 1 liter of water. As soon as she takes her first sip, she realizes it isn't water, it is blood. The phone starts ringing......

I also couldn't understand why you named it "The iPhone call". But it is certainly one of the better stories of this contest. Great effort.

I had written this in 3-4 hours and it surely has exposed my incompetence
Tried hard to describe the gore but couldn't
You can blame it on me not watching horror genres
