Thumbs up N80

N80

Pricing: I would definitely believe that it is on the heavy side of the price tagging but then you don’t get the top celebrities for cheap do you? However even if it’s expensive, it delivers everything it is being charged for. Moreover it is a business phone so you can really shell out some amount when it’s used for business purpose.

Features : I don’t believe I can give out all the features in this short space provided yet I will try to minimize my hyping even though I am so excited after using it that I am all gaga over it & believe me if it was a babe you would find me all over her. Lets start with all those that everyone can copy from any site, yes it has a 3.2 MP camera & it beats any camera that I have used in a mobile, well most importantly I haven’t used the K-800 so I cant tell u about that. It has a voice command & it stores its own voice commands for contacts added, that’s spectacular coz I hadn’t seen that until now in any of the mobiles that I had seen. However if u are not so comfortable with the lingo that this device has then you can replace it with your own. It has a world clock with the ability to save any number of your favorite cities & I know I have quite a few of them. Talk about the explorers that we used to download for every phone, this one has a built in file explorer with the ease to explore any part of the phone or the memory card. Most importantly, if u are a music buff, this phone & accompanied HS-31 headset offers enough to beat any of the best mp3 players, perhaps a few of the loyalists might kill me for stating that but its true. Plus there is a 3.5mm port adapter supplied with it incase you want to plug in your own set of headphones. The sound is crisp & the bass is good & the music just rocks. It even has its own collection of ring tones which might be popular... Gosh and I can’t miss out on this... I love chatting & what more would I want other than its own IM which doesn’t need an internet connection to get connected. The display is absolutely magnificent & this is by far the best screen that nokia had possibly offered, EVER!

Looks & Feel: Well it is not the slimmest of the designs you would find today in the market but then nokia doesn’t really have a good sense of what you might call as AWESOME Design. As much as I love nokia but I can’t over see this part of nokia that they haven’t really been able to come out with an "S E X Y" design. It just finds itself among admirers who are very loyal to NOKIA. I would term myself as one of the admirers of nokia but I wouldn’t really talk about all goodie goodie when I am reviewing with an unbiased view of this phone.

About the Ease of Use : Nokia tops in this department, its the easiest of all the phones to use & much more people are more familiar with nokia type of usage & hence every phone that nokia comes out with is similar & therefore its found very easy & simple to operate & explore. Yes explore is an important word when u are talking about N80 because it’s loaded with all sorts of new functions & it takes the mobile's to an all new level. This small experience of mine with the phone will prove it to you why I say that. I was searching a way to save my mp3 which I sent via BLUETOOTH from my laptop ( to avoid misunderstanding I dint use the nokia suite to send this file) & I dint know how would I put up this file in the memory card & that to in a folder of my choice. Let’s say I was too excited & I spent like 30 minutes to think of a way to save it rather than hearing it. In the end I gave up & decided to hear the song instead & voila... the phone asked me if I wanted to save the file to phone or card and where in card if u do want to do save on it. Must say if the phones are being smart then u need not try to act smart.

Can’t tell you much about the after sales service yet but believe me NOKIA is a multinational company & it wouldn’t hurt its own reputation for the kind of service they would give after their sales...

Final Verdict: If you are looking to own something which is not common you better own this beauty as it has all the power & technology to definitely set you apart from the rest. One Helluva cell phone... My take… 8.5/10 (Yes the absence of Carl Zeiss Auto focus makes me clip 0.5 from the score.)

I got it for about 27k but i believe its around 25k now. If u are deciding between these models let me tell u this, that N73 has the coolest camera, so if ur friend is more bent upon the cam feature of the phone then ask him to go for N73, its camera even beats k800's cam. If he loves music & want an ipod built in a phon then N91 is the best bet, but i am not sure if N91 is really a success coz of some software glitch, although i never faced any of it in the past 1 month that i have seen in use. N80, is an all rounder, the cam is not really that sharp it does lack that punch u get from the autofocus from carl zeiss in N73 but still since its an all rounder u can expect a marginal compromise in all departments. N73 has an added advantage of a better battery that nokia has come up with, so its much more competitive with SE mobiles. N73 would cost u around 27,500.

LOL.. yeah well i heard many cursing the poor phone .. anyway N73 is good the only thing that n73 doesnt have & n80 does is the WLAN.. wonder how useful it would be in places where there is no wireless internet, but it sure is useful for me & it works great..
