Billu's family and children become apprehensive about his claim. In the end, for an invited school function, the star reveals his past. Whats the Moie About?
Billu Barber, from the name it must give you a feeling of a story of a Barber/Hairdresser, Yes it is, but its not only that, its about misconception, its about friendship, its about honoring that friendship, and cherishing it
The story has "once again" been attempted in Malayalam (KADHA PARAYUMBOL) and Tamil (KUSELAN) earlier, and this movie is on the similar lines i.e. the story talks of the friendship between a superstar and an ordinary mortal who runs a salon.
Now for the Story
Billu tells the story of a simple ordinary man, Bilas Rao Pardesi (Irrfan Khan), living in a small town with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and two kids. His life undergoes a drastic change as superstar Sahir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) visits the village for a film shoot. Everything changes. Things go from good to bad to worse to good again.
Ten minutes into the film and you get absorbed into Billu's small world. The salon is in bad shape, the family is facing tough times, the neighbours and acquaintances are fair-weather friends... Billu's life gets grim with each passing day.
The story takes an interesting turn when Billu's life collides with the superstar's.
Review
What you'll see here is two con-current stories running together. Irfan Khan's Story is the main story in the movie, and thats what you are gonna love about the film

SRK's story is about his superstardom and all that stuff, but i cudnt understand that, whenever he's there on screen either he's hamming or doing an item song (i'll come to that later). But SRK has acted well too especially in the finale, and thats the movie's HIGH POINT
The show belongs to Irfan, although SRK forces himself in every item song

. Irfan has emerged as a force to reckon with, his performances have appealed to all strata of moviegoers and his work in Billu will only cement his status as a remarkable actor. He really makes you feel that character and connects with you throughout the movie.
Everyone has supported the movie very well & will always keep you reminding its a PriyaDarshan movie, as the same characters in his previous movies, in a different role. He needs to change his actors now...
Lara Dutta has convinced that she can act & is really looking as Gaaon ki Chori, with Backless Choli

Rasika Joshi & Rajpal Yadav, provides you few laughs, the comedy is also toned down a bit. Humour is maintained.
Now for the Item Girls -
Deepika | Love Mera Hit Hit | Avoid SRK & Was totally looking @ Deepika the whole song
Priyanka | You Keep me Rockin n Rollin | Again Avoid SRK, was totally drooling over her hotness in the song
Kareena | Marjaani | Again Avoid SRK & look at her, for a change she looks nice in that song
Well, the first & third Item songs are outta place, the second gels in well with the Khudaya Khair Soundtrack
The Songs are watchable and not passable, but as i mentioned above, they are outta place.
On the whole, Billu Barber is a sweet-n-simple film that lingers in your memory even after the movie has concluded.
The finale is the highpoint of the movie and that elevates the status of the film to great heights, and you have to watch it to believe the emotions running high at the end, you really get the feeling of the superstar & a simpleton meeting after a long time. Priyadarshan Rocks in that Part
We can only wait n see how it performs, but a strong word of mouth, will really help this movie to gather momentum on box office, as
Delhi 6 is about to release in few weeks...
I would rate this movie 7/10 A Good and Entertaining watch for Movie Lovers
P.S. - SRK has addressed two issues in the movie very well
1) Khan vs. Khan Fight (sallu vs srk

)
2) Pappu can't dance saala
