Warning : If You are Expecting Darna Zaroori Hai to be a Horror Flick, you are advised to stay away from the movie coz its more of a comedy then Horror !

Ok now on to the Review, Ram Gopal Varma is back with Darna Zaroori Hai. DZH is suppose to be a sequel to Darna Mana Hai.

If Darna Mana Hai was big, the supposed sequel Darna Zaroori Hai is colossal. Bigger stars and multiple directors! Here again the movie has six separate episodes that end up to a common climax. Interestingly each of the six episodes is directed by a different director. So each story should expectedly be divergently different from the other in terms of the theme and treatment of the individual directors. Darna Zaroori Hai is the first Hindi film to be directed by six directors.

This Movie is awesome FUN ! Yah its not scary at all ( though it was supposed to be ) but it is still awesome FUN. After a Long Time I have seen a Bollywood Movie which has'nt Bored me ! This Movie is very very short according to the indian standards, approx 1 hour 50 minutes. But at the same time it is very entertaining.

Now This Movie has a total of 6 episodes so I am gonna review it one by one. Also I am Gonna Give Ratings out of 5 to each Episode.

Episode 1 : The introductory story directed by Sajid Khan shows Manoj Pahwa watching Darna Mana Hai for a night show and returning back from a graveyard at the midnight. This smartly executed episode talks about the fear of mind and gives the movie an impressive initiation. This Episode is Sooo Funny , that for a moment u will be Thinking that u have purchased a Ticket for a comedy Film ( Actually True ). Manoj Pahwa is Brilliant in This episode. Believe me after this episode ends U will be Laughing your Heart Out ! Ram Gopal Varma doesn't even spare himself when, in the first episode of the film, he shows the cinema hall playing his film Darna Mana Hai to a vacant auditorium. Easily The Second Best Episode of the Film.
Rating : 5/5

Episode 2 : Ram Gopal Varma directs the second episode where Amitabh Bachchan plays a hallucinating professor who sees a person in his house that others can't. Bachchan does a splendid act and Riteish Deshmukh supports him ably. Only if the story could provide some more support. The problem here is that where the horror begins, the story ends. The disadvantage of dealing with short stories is that it leaves a lot to be desired. This is also the first episode to introduce some cheap Thrills with awesome sound effects. The Thrills are cheap but nonetheless effective. I actually Jumped out of my seat when that particular scene came. This is the Weakest episode of the whole Film and not even the Brilliant Bachan could save it.
Rating : 2/5.

Episode 3 : Prawaal Raman who directed all the episodes of the original comes next with his story of planchet. Do spirits come when called through planchets is the theme of this episode, and is executed interestingly! This story captivates and Bipasha Basu, Makrand Deshpande and Arjun Rampal put in convincing acts. However to those hooked to Hitchcock horrors, it won't take much to figure out the mystery beforehand. But Still a pretty Decent and Hilarious episode.
Rating : 3/5

Episode 4 : Debutante director Vivek Shah comes up with the second Weakest episode. Rajpal Yadav hams hysterically as an insurance agent who is out to safeguard families with his policies. Neither is he a psycho nor a split personality but still behaves erratically. There is no fear attached to this episode. Horror story or horrific story? How one wishes the movie could have done without this episode like the apple story in the first part. The common element between both the stories being Rajpal Yadav! This episode is also Hilarious and sonali Kulkarni is Looking very very Hot !!
Rating : 2/5

Episode 5 : The next episode by Jijy Philip just seems to be added as a tribute (read take-off) on Ramu's rivals ? Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. That is blatantly evident from the protagonist of this story played by Anil Kapoor who is named Karan Chopra. This guy has family flicks like Kabhi Kabhi Hota Hai to his credit. Even his assistant is named Dharma (a take-off on Johar's production house). So rather than scary, this episode turns out to be funny with all the intentional spoofs. The story is well developed but after a point of time predictability seeps in. Mallika Sherawat lacks horror timing. This Episode was also quite Funny and the ending is Hilarious !
Rating : 3/5

Episode 6 : The best of all the episodes comes at the very end that has horror coming out from the story and not just the setting. Director J D Chekravarthy doesn't serve you the expected. And interestingly this episode, which has the least star-power, has the best performances amongst all episodes. Randeep Hooda and Zakir Hussain are spooky. The culmination of the plot is also satisfying and not abrupt or unsettled like the other episode endings. The sound mixing is impeccable and adds to the effect. This Episode is the most Hilarious and spooky ( in parts )at the same Time ! Once again the ending is Hilarious !
Rating : 5/5

Finally the connecting story directed by Manish Gupta takes the conventional route. The haunted mansion setting adds to the atmosphere !

Darna Mana Hai lived up to its name. It didn't scare much. Darna Zaroori Hai doesn't live up to its name. That again means it doesn't scare much. The bottom line being that apart from a couple of thrill and shrill here and there, you will go Laughing all the way to home. Bhoot still happens to be the best horror flick from Ram Gopal Varma.

BOTTOMLINE : The Movie is awesome ! The Best Comedy ( unintentional ) after Hera Pheri ! Total TimePass and Paisa Wasool !!
