GOAL !!! SO what do you expect from this movie....Chak De India???

It comes close to Chak De, but couldn't deliver it because of storyline & Screenplay.
The Storyline is very predictable....The Underdogs rising story, similar to Mighty Ducks, Bend It Like Beckham...etc etc...



As the Tagline suggest, HEROES WILL RISE they sure are heroes to us.

We actually know what happens in International Countries, Racism, Communism etc etc....

Goal tries to cover it all. Similar to Chak De.

There are only 4 Differences in these two movies -
1] Boys
2] Football
3] Asia against India(in Chak De)
4] Motivating factor behind the players.

Goal Delivers it goods in the Post Interval session.


****Story~Spoilers****
Its all about Southall Football Club & its residents i.e. Asians.
The Club is under performing since last 8 years & running into losses.
City Council Decides to Steal that land to make it a commercial area.
Hence Notice of 11months is given to the club, to pay 3Million pounds or leave the ground.

Soon after that the Club Manager Dies, & Club is left with no coach & no staff.



Soon Arshad Warsi (Shaan) is in search of coach Boman (Tony).
Boman agrees to be the coach, but his past still haunts him. Beautifully shown scene i.e. of Boman in Washroom.

Boman Hires Bipasha (Rumana or watever)*looking HOT as always* as Med for the team.



Boman finds a need of striker for the team, John (Sunny) but John's plan are to join big league.
Everyone tells him that he wont make it because of his color & that's what happens.
He's left with no team. So he joins Southhall after a challenge from Boman *cant imagine Boman playing such nice football*



Soon after he joins the team, there's a certain no from the team to accept him, cos of his past behavior with the team.



But he shines, in the match. everybody forgets the enemity between them & accepts John in the Team.


Billo Rani Track is seriously outta place in the sports movie.

Southhall goes on to win matches placed @ top of the league & One point ahead of their rivals Aston United with 2 games to go.

They have to win the second last match to win the league, but circumstances come in their way. John is lured out to Join Milwall Club right before the Second Last match & he leaves Southhall.



But the Club fights the match, but draws in the end. Hence to win the league Beat the best - Aston United.



The penultimate 20mins are simply awesome. I personally got up from the chair to cheer for the team along with almost whole theatre. It was like INDIA v/s Australia Final or for EPL followers like me MAN U v/s Chelsea

AMAZING Climax, & that is what you'll take from the film even after the movie gets over.



The pre-intermission discussion in the Man U Stadium is simply awe-inspiring - THE BEST SCENE IN THE MOVIE

So Don't waste much time & please hurry to your nearest Cinema Hall.
The movie is worth a watch for all movie goers.
Football Fan or not, you'll cheer for them, when you see them on screen.

With out taking much time, I would like to conclude that the Movie is not the Best, but its not an average movie too.....

The storyline is very much predictable, but good performances can overlook the storyline.

After all who doesn't like Mighty Duck

Actors:
John - Good Acting & very likeable
Arshad - Excellent & very convincing
Bipasha - Okies, just to add glamour to the movie
Raj Zutshi - Excellent comic timing & serious acting
Boman - Similar to Sharukh from Chak De, but little undertoned.

So here it is Wellas, go fetch your movie tickets for this movie. Highly recommended to all Football Lovers & all
