Fanaa is from Yash Raj Banner. It is produced by the Chopra's Aditya and Yash. It is directed by Kunal Kohli of the Hum Tum fame.

The Acting

Acting is a department which is overloaded by powerpacked acting by Amir and Kajol. This essentially is a comeback sort of file for Kajol who is back to films after her marriage. Amir has done an awesome role in the film. Though in first half he does look like age has caught up with him , but he manages to impress by delivering "sher" after "sher" perfectly. For Amir i will give 9/10. Kajol also has delivered a good performance. Though it looks like she has gained some weight but in traditional clothes which she wears throughtout the film she looks awesome. For her i will give 9/10 for a power packed slap she lands on Amir near the end.
Kirron Kher has essentially taken the motherly role from Farida Jalal it looks like. But again a good performance from her. Rishi Kapoor is also looking good. Lara Dutta and Shiny Ahuja give a small 5 minute appearence. Also i had heard Abhishek Bachchan is also giving a Guest Appearence in the film but i did not find him anywhere.


The Direction, Script, Cinematography and Screenplay

This film has some typical moments during which you realise that only Kunal Kohli could have directed this film. But the Action sequences , especially the ones in Kashmir are of good quality and look quite realistic and better. Kunal had a tough job considering the script which is quite good and ultimately is what hold you back. Also screenplay is pretty commendable and i have liked that and the cinematography the best after the acting that is. Overall the start is pretty solid with Amir taking the lead, and end is pretty strong too. The film does not have weak moments as such but overall the pace is ok ok as in Hum Tum.
The locations are pretty scenic and look beautiful. One more good point to see the movie.

Songs and Music

Surprisingly leaving one or two songs the overall composition is pretty average cosidering the music directors Jatin and Lalit and also the it is a Yash Raj Banner. The lyricist is Prasoon Joshi. But good Back Ground score.


The Verdict

I would say the movie is good and can be seen once. i will give it a rating of 7.5/10. If you are an Amir Khan fan then this is a movie not to miss. Though he looks a bit aged in the start towards the end he is just awesome. For Kajol fans go see this movie, as you have been waiting for soooo long.
Otherwise you can see it once very sure.
