I went to see the movie with not much high hopes..... reason to hit towards the hall was to accompany a nice and hot office collegue.... and i wouldnt want to let the offer go too easily.... Even if the movie yeild nothing of value.... but fortunately it did....
Run-of-the-mill bang-bang-kiss-kiss-fare... is this what you think of this movie.... Well lets see..... what this movie has..... and yes i wont be letting out the scerets, to destroy the plot....
The movie has a nice story... i does not goes into the stylish lifestyle of some gangster..... how he is macho, and does the killings ruthlessly..... it pounces the subject of love..... in a plot which would be expected in real life scenario, should the situation arise......
PLOT :
Simran is in love with shiney, but does not like his profession.... And her frustration gives way in for a cute looking emran into her life, and then into her heart, and then into her bed..... This is when macho, shiney witness them, and thrash emran, with all he can find.... So this is leading to a same age old storyline....
Well not anymore.... this story has nothing to do with both this machos but with Simran......
She is in a fix.... and to draw a true picture... she represent what most girls of today face.... not every one need to be a simran to feel like her... nor they need a gangster to be her boyfriend.... but yes, love in today's bold and free spirited modern women will represent a complicated path leading to decision which are full of uncertainity....
Well too much of philosophy here....excuse me for that....
But the fact remains is that... the movie especially revolves around simran and her mind or rather heart... and not around the good guy and the bad guy policy... neither the bad underworld and the good police.... Simran is in fix... whether to love her gangster, who is so powerful, macho, lovable and ruthless or to love emran who is simple, down to earth, and comparitivetly weak or rather not-a-superman.....
To add, the film raises some very good questions.... like does a bad person is really bad or its just that he does not share the same view like al others....?? Or do we love a person for his/her strength, which we seek.... or for his/her weakness which we try to fulfil....???
MUSIC :
Music is simply great, a 9/10.... Songs are nicely place and adhere to the storyline and is not hay wire.... Specially loved the
Ya Ali and
Bheegi bheegi song....
DIRECTION :
Nice direction by director Anuraag Basu, truly great scenes chopped out in a busi city with neat precision....
ACTOR :
Both emran and simran does there part well, but i guess the role of shiney had much more substance and he could have easily stole away the show..... unfortunately he couldn't....
BEST PART :
The scene of Shiney's arrest at the Seoul station... nicely executed....
MY VERDICT :
I ahve not reveal much of what goes on in the movie as it will spoil the enthusiasm..... so go watch the movie... and decide for your self.... and while you are at it here are a two of my two self made graffitti to ponder....
1. Women's heart is far more complex than men's.... try not to go digging around in with a shovel... rather plant a sapling and make it grow.....
2. Trust blindly, and they make sure you never get a chance to open your eyes....
MY TIP :
Go to see it with some chic... and you will enjoy more..... If the story does not click to you, atleast u wont regret the moeny spent.....
