Ok ... now let me clear all the misconceptions about this movie. Ghajni is NOT Memento. The only similarities between the two movies is the overall theme of revenge , the Polaroid camera and the tattoos. Apart from that Ghajini is a total different experience. So please stop comparing it with Memento.

Now the second question. Is Ghajini any good? The answer is Yes, but its nothing exceptional. There are so many plot holes and basic logical flaws that it hampers the whole movie experience. The whole concept of 15 minutes memory Loss is flawed as we see Aamir do things which are impossible to do in a 15 minutes time span. This happens not once but many times throughout the movie. The second area where it fails to impress is the emotional quotient. Somehow the film fails to connect with the audience. While Aamir's performance is brilliant, I found his transformation from a calm and composed business tycoon to a murdering psycho very unbelievable. The music although decent is below Rahman's standards. Asin impresses, Jia is ok and the main villain Ghajini is decent although his haryanvi accent sounds very weird.

Overall, Ghajini is an out an out bollywood entertainer. Families might be put off by the violence which is shown throughout the movie in a typical bollywood style. To give it its due credit, it does an exceptional job of not boring the audience throughout its 3 hr long runtime. Ghajini is strictly a one time watch. I would give it a 3/5 rating.

I have to agree with Bluffy on this. When i saw the tamil movie, I enjoyed it, but i too felt the same about the movie. I was hoping the flaws will be looking into when it was remade in hindi.

Although its a 3 hours movie there is hardly a scene without 'Sanjay Singhania'(Thats Aamir's name in the movie), as a result rest of the characters aren't well defined. The movie title is based on the name of the villain but all he does in the entire movie is he comes in middle of the movie, kills Asin and in the end gets his ass kicked. Hardly five frames in the entire movie.

While it is a good movie, its is not even close to be called as the best movie of the year.

Point is which is the best movie of the year?
Compare with Singh is King, Golmaal Returns, Jodha Akbar, Welcome to Sajjanpur and Rab ne Bana dee jodi.

Compared to all those, its is i think the better one.

Exactly what I wanted to say saar.
I found the movie a scene-by-scene copy of the tamil version except for the climax which is well done (you get to see more of asin ). It has better action, but like bluffy and Ninja said, flaws should have been looked into. The 15 min "shurt taarm memoory lass" like the idiot villian says is too short and I really doubt if the vengence and anger would sustain for that long

7/10 for a decent entertainer

You missed "A Wednesday". I'd go for that.

Yes , "A Wednesday" is easily the best Movie of this year.But sadly it was not a commercial success.

I agree with bluffy,that movie is nowhere similar to memento.

Some of the things which disappointed me in the movie

*I expected Amir to justice to the role of the patient suffering from Anterograde Amnesia - the inability to form new memories after damage to the hippocampus.while this was brilliantly portrayed in 'Memento' ,amir performance is nowhere close to the brilliant portrayal of the character in Memento.

* The action.For first time ,I found myself laughing my ass off at action scene.The action is unrealistic,cartoony at times funny.

* The holes in the story.The story line was nowhere near convincing.First time after a long time, you get to see a hero after being stabbed with a iron rod,gets up after some time and bashes up the villain n he doesnt die.This is what I was not expecting from a amir starrer.

The good parts of the film

*The best part of the film is amir - Asin romance .

My view, this movie is watchable only once .I would suggest you give it a miss ,if you watched tamil version of ghajini or are not a fan of Amir. This movie doesnt do justice to the 300 RS ticket I paid.

Amir,if another such film from you .I will stop goin to theater to watch ur film.

If asked watch again ,I would watch only Amir-Asin romance part givin other parts a miss.
