Direction
The direction is good, camera angles taken care of, its a typical Karan Johar movie with huge sets, beautiful locations very well covered , so no flaw there.
Screenplay.
Screenplay is quite good, Amitabh and Kiron Kher are the characters that are more enoyable than the others. Abhishek does a good job, so does rani and preity, Its sharukh however who plays the role of a irritated, stubborn guy to perfection, although he goes overboard once or twice but thats hardly noticable.
Storyline
THe downer, Really cant understand why the story was taken up, nothing new, nothing intresting, some scenes are too bland to be understood at all. Couldnt understand, y the movie was made at all.
Music.
Music is decent, but too similar to Kal ho Na Ho, but sound crisp to the ears, so its fine
Overall
Overall, it is a below average movie, not worth spending 150bux on it. Although the roles played by each person are quite ok according to their character, but the storyline makes the movie fall down flat. Only saviours are Amitabh Bacchand and Kiron Kher, who add the comedy touch to the movie.
Although i know every 1 would watch it for once, so i recommend not spending 150 bux on it.
Rating 5/10 cause i know females would love this stupid movie for its emotional scenes.
SPOILER WARNING! - KANK Story
THe movie revolves around the life of 2 couples and their families. One couple is of Dev and Rhea who have been married for 5 years, have a kid and have coped up to live with each other instead of the indiffrences. The other couple if of Rishi and Maya, who get married in the starting of the movie. Sam is Rishi's father and Kamljit is Dev's mother.
The movie starts with Dev in a football match, thats got a lot on stake,and ofcourse he is the one who makes the final goal to win the match. At the same time Rhea has an interview and she gets a job at a high class Fashion magazine. On the other hand, Rishi is getting ready for his marrige and so is Sam. As it seems that Maya is confused abt getting married to Rishi or not, Dev stumbles upon her and makes her understand that she should get married. As Dev walks out our super football player gets hit by a car for apparently no reason and his leg is damaged for the rest of his life.
The story continues that after the accident, Dev has turned into a stubborn, irritated person who passes comments on every situation. Rhea who has got a job in the fashion magazine is too busy to have any time for her family, this has added to the diffrence between the two.
Maya and Rishi on the other hand share a situation where, maya cannot bear a child and hence feels emptyness in her life, which rishi tries to take out as much as he can. Sam is a colorful character who lives as friends with his son, and loves to throw out parties and beleives in living his life to the full.
Now in a strange turn of events, Maya and Dev meet again and after the initial fight they understand they are in the same situation of their marrige getting weakned day by day, they decide to become friends and help each other save therir marriges. What happens next is that friendship leads to love over the time, and they end up having a physical relationship [ Typical isnt'it]
Rhea and Rishi on the other hand are too busy to see whats going on and beleive they are friends.
The relationship however takes a turn when Sam becomes friends with Kamaljit and invites their family to dinner, where the tension between Dev and Maya is noticed by Sam.
Next scene, Dev and Maya are spotted huggin and kissing by Sam and Kamaljit, after which the 2 retreat to their respective homes with their parents. Sam has a heart attack and dies. Now Dev and Maya decide that they should tell their respective partners about this affair, which leads to figting and divorce. Dev and Maya leave the city and live a lonely secluded life for 3 years after which Rishi goes back to meet Maya to tell her abt this marrige, Rhea also has moved on and is getting into a relationship. At the marrige Maya realises that Dev has also gotten divorced and is leaving forever for Canada, now she runs to the station where the 2 meet up and make up and thus live happily ever after.
ohh.... am so happy I passed up the opportunity to watch this movie (friends went for FDFS )... I went for Omkara instead and got blown away by Saif Ali Khan !!
Anyway, this movie wont be a flop..... It will do well and make a lot of money because of the star case and the good marketing....
