Shoot-out at LokhandWala

The movie is a typical Crime scene investigation story directed by Apoorva Lakhia, based on the real shoot-out by Mumbai PI Khan on 16th Nov, 91 .

Movie starts with Sweet sweet Diya Mirza(Who is a reporter in the movie) who is showing the post-shootout scenes at LokhandWala. Stains of Blood on floor and hundreds of empty Bullet-shells on floor are enogh to strike a sensation of panic in viewer's mind.

Right after that, Big B is shown, who is lawyer for the PIs(Sanjay dutt, Sunil shetty and Arbaaz Khan), asking them what exactly happened and why they have to carry out the encounter. In reply to which, the Police wallahs narate the story of how they got the idea of ATS(Anti-terrorist squad) and how it is very efficient etc etc.

Character of Maya Dolas is extremely well-performed by Vivek. This man actually sucks in romentic roles but does exceptionally well when shown as an arrogant, care-less guy. (Company, kaal and now, Shootout!) His performance is awesome... The 'Bhai' wallah attitude is ultimate.

Rest of the Gundahs also do well. Tushar is doin a nice job here working as a top shooter of the gang.

Sanjay Dutt, Suneil Shetty and Arbaaz also do very well in the movie.

The only drawback of the movie are the two bar dances which are put without any meaning. Also, I expected to see Maya rising high and then falling. Here, Maya is shot down before he can actually rise. (Okay, as this is based on True Rumours, this one is forgiven! )

In all, a one time watch. But as i said, dont go if u dont like violence.

Good revu..will check it out..was waiting for a first hand impression..thanks Dont know about the casting of the bar dances but Aarti Chhabria does look stunning in those promos...
As for the violence, i think, bollywood movies still have a long way to go b4 they match hollywood n brit movies....till then, the violence in bollywood movies can be easily given PG13 rating....

Also, 'Based on true rumours'...?? what the hell does tht mean?? Tht'll make a good Oxymoron...

Review is ok .. I thought the movie sucked. Knee-jerk editing, Tushaar can't act. Viveik and Sanjay are just about ok .. They have done much better roles in, say, Company/Vaastav ... Suniel and Arbaaz are wasted .. And the action!! .. Sucks to the core, blind firing .. no strategy .. ugh .. This is one movie where inspite of all the amazing male leads, i would still prefer if more screen time was given to Diya Mirza

Advice ... Given a choice between the above and Shooter (English) .. They r both released at INOX last week .. Plz go for the Shooter!! .. The newer military technology used in da movie is gr8 + the action ..

Shooter released last week?? ....man, i watched it a month back...

ok just watched this.
A pretty run of the mill story. Obviously i like the theme(because of my background) a bit as i think the police officers or the Army take all the blame for any encounter or shootout. When a criminal is shot or killed it makes national headlines, but police or army guys are killed allthe time without anyone noticing.


Anyway coming to the movie. Some horrible performances by Tushar, even Vivek was too much antic no substance. (the chandu of company was far better) Sanjay Dutt looked a real policeman(apart from the masala scene in the end of his and vivek's revolver going empty at the same time, why can't we be realistic )
Stupid Role of Aarti. Even the touted item number was a damp squib

Bad bad editing. Left you dangling. bg score is okish.

Overall, 2/5 for me. Average movie. No comparison to company(which was far far more realistic.

wonder y all the hype over dis movie....every news channel n newspaper went on praising this movie.
But at last all hype no product <_<

the ats squad i.e sanjay , arbaaz and sunil were simply too gud .but the vivek n company sucked big time .they almost did their best to f**k the movie. full credit to sanjay dutt for making it such a big hit .
