Vantage Point
Cast:
Dennis Quaid ... Thomas Barnes
Matthew Fox ... Kent Taylor
Forest Whitaker ... Howard Lewis
Movie Synopsis:
President Ashton (William Hurt) is attending a global war on terror summit in Spain. Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are two of the Secret Service agents assigned to protect him. This is the first action that Agent Barnes has been in since he took a bullet for President Ashton six-month earlier. We really dont know if Agent Barnes is up to the challenge of protecting the President. Shortly after President Ashton is escorted to the stage in the plaza by the Secret Service, he is immediately shot twice by a rifle from a window and falls to the floor. The crowd is in shock and chaos breaks out all over, especially, when bombs begin to explode.
My Take:
Delivered as a story that shows the attempted assassination of the US president from 8 different people's point of view. The starting was pretty good. Good suspense and the narrative of each person left off just at the moment you didn't want it to leave
It just got a bit of a drag int he end. Don't get me wrong, the action was great just that die hard criminals trying to avoid one life to forsake their plan doesn't look digestible. In the end Another US President was saved

Dennis Quaid as secret service agent was also a bit dicey. Here is a man dead nervous and doesn't put a foot wrong in that state. Forest Whitaker, I thought that was a good performance, the most believable role although why would a guy start running after gunmen with a child to protect beats me

. I actually liked the double bluff

Just that it could have been handled a lot better.
Fast paced music. Good action, especially at the end with the car chase.
7/10 (Nice sleaze free time pass after a long time. Good action, fast narrative)
