Subhash Ghai movie after quite an unsuccessful run of movies like Yaadein, Kisna & Black & White, he has some what struck the note. Yuvvraaj is another of Ghai’s Creation and it shows that Ghai has many years before he quits direction. Lets get to the review then.
STORY-
Deven Yuvvraaj [Salman Khan] is a chorus singer, in love with Anushka [Katrina Kaif]. Her father Dr. Banton [Boman Irani], however, is against this relationship. Things take a turn when Deven's father passes away and he returns to London to stake claim on his father's wealth. He meets his two estranged brothers Gyanesh Yuvvraaj [Anil Kapoor] and Danny Yuvvraaj [Zayed Khan] after almost twelve years. But things aren't like they shud’ve been. Gyanesh is suffering from Autism but with William’s Syndrome (Music Qualities). He always stays in his bedroom with the servant’s kids. The story unfolds at a good pace, but the screenplay lacks pace. It gives you highs & very few lows during the movie. The end will remind you of Main Hoon Na & OSO, as here also they share the credits by showing all the people who are responsible for creating this wonderful film.
CAST- Anil Kapoor , Salman Khan , Katrina Kaif , Zayed Khan ,Aushima Sawhney , Amie Maghera , Javed Sheikh ,Boman Irani
The movie belongs to Anil Kapoor, wholly!!! He is the one why the family comes together; he is the one who makes u laugh & cry in the movie. You get emotionally attached with him. Salman is his usual self, BRAT & BAD BOY. The start will remind you of his real life where, he get angry very quickly fights with Kats on small things & gets cozy too

Zayed impresses, but he is not focused until late second half of the movie, the chick with him is

worthy.
Katrina Kaif is again typecasted as NRI; I suppose she will get only such kinda roles in her career. But she looks different in this movie & acts naturally as the chemistry between Salman & Kat shows on screen. Boman Irani is credible & performs better than Dostana here, especially the Finale. Mithun Chakraborthy also manages to support the film with his mysterious nature. The supporting cast has also acted well & Anjan Srivastava reminds of Shakuni Mama of Mahabharat

and the Hot Bhabhi (wat a name – Sukamna

) also perfects as villainous relatives.
To specially mention few high points here, the film takes off in the second half & Anil’s performance in climax scenes increases to a tremendous level. Salman also convinces us with his performance in the climax, where the tension in the audience will surely rise. You have to watch him to believe him convince Boman in the finale.
DIRECTION-
The story screenplay & direction is all done by Ghai & he has made loads efforts to make every screen a Potrait picture. Every scene is like a wonderful landscape. But as I mentioned earlier the story is effective, but the screen play lacks pace. This is not Ghai’s best one but is one of his best one. You can easily invest your hard earned money in his labor of love.
MUSIC-
The Music keeps you alive thru out the movie. The picturization of them is also done wonderfully, though the main song – Tu Meri Dost hai – cud’ve been done without animation, but WTH the songs rock. Rahman scores another wonder. Also I found that the lines of a song were altered in the movie.
The movie will work in Overseas very well & in metros will be cash rich. It will not appeal the crowd other than metros in INDIA.
Subhash Ghai is the Storyteller of Bollywood & he delivers in that. Posting on behalf of xXx
