MTV Hero Honda Roadies a Rip-Off??

MTV Hero Honda Roadies is the longest running reality television series in India and is currently in its fifth season....
The show was created by Raghu Ram and is hosted by Rannvijay. "Roadies has travel, adventure, drama, touch of voyeurism..." said Raghu Ram, when asked about the show.The maximum prize for winning the show is Rs 500,000.

And so we all had thought it was the first genuinely created reality show in India not a ripoff like other reality shows...

If You think so then thats probably wrong....Because sadly its another of one those "inspired" reality show...

MTV Road Rules

MTV Road Rules,MTV's second reality show,debuted on July 19, 1995 and has completed 14 seasons.The ground-breaking series was a pioneer in travel/adventure/reward reality television...
So we all had thought that in MTV Hero Honda Roadies we had our very own Reality show,which was completely Made in India but not to be...

I was wondering How they actually made a original reality TV show in the first place. Indian TV track record on reality tv is copy pasting foreign shows and i really thought MTV had made something original this time.

Alas not so. I actually thought it was Raghu's idea And if you notice, he always claims credit for it also, atleast during the auditions. See the wiki reference: The show was created by Raghu Ram and is hosted by Rannvijay.

They used to show this MTV Road Rules on MTV sometimes......i had seen a couple of episodes long back....

I never thought this was an original idea. I thought they only mixed "The Amazing Race" and "Fear Factor" and only added vote outs to it. Of course now I see a third angle to it "MTV Road Rules". So it was never an original Idea anyway.

I know of another game show I think was started in Argentina. It is more interesting than the Roadies, where the members are given a bike and they have travel to a destination and only has cams with them where they have to record their journey. So they have to mend their bike if it breaks down, have to do petty jobs to earn to refill their bikes and have food and also complete some tasks given to them and the one who goes first wins.

well i am surprised that roadies is actually copied.
well surely the indian reality shows front is dishonouring
i don't think the indian minds come up with good idea and even if they do it aleady has been taken up by the foreigners
