The 34-year-old remains in control of this year's event after a three-under-par second round 69 saw him climb to 10-under-par and take a one-shot lead into the weekend.
"I'm delighted," insisted the mild-mannered Randhawa whose six birdies today were tempered by three bogeys. "I didn't think I would end up leading the golf tournament after two days, especially in a field like this. But I guess I played well and I'm just happy to be here."
Randhawa will now be grouped with World No.1 Tiger Woods and World No.6 Retief Goosen for tomorrow's third round and he is sure to have taken heart from his friend and compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh's ability to more than hold his own playing alongside Woods whilst playing with him over the first two rounds.
