PHL 2008: Bangalore highfliers lose first of the best of three finals

Chandigarh Dynamos beat Bangalore highfliers 3-2 in the first of the best of three finals in the PHL 2008.

Both teams are known to play attacking hockey and they didn't disappoint. However I was disappointed the way two of my fav players played. Bharat Chetri and Len aiyappa are the backbone of the Bangalore team but neither Chetri nor Len were in the form that they had showed couple of days back against the Steelers.

While Chetri had miserable game(especially the first three quarters) Len missed 3 Penalty corners.

Bimal Rakhra who has had a wonderful tournament so far also failed to make an impact.

Hope the highfliers will be back with a bang to win the next three matches.

Bangalore Highfliers managed to win the second final of PHL 2008 with a margin of 4-2 against the mighty Dynamos. The Korean International Kyo Sik scored two goals before getting injured. Len was again way below par and the Highfliers could convert only on of the four penalty corners they earned(That to off a rebound).

The result means the two teams will lock horns in the third final on Friday for the PHL trophy

Somehow the non international matches don't attract my interest even though i am an ardent hockey fan.

Anyway i will have a look see this Friday Am supporting Chandigarh Dynamos

^ I am sure it will be a repeat of PHL 2005 finals in which Bangalore Highfliers(Then Bangalore Lions) defeated Dynamos hands down
