And as we were discussing in shoutbox, frankly this was the first movie i watched that featured ayesha takia. "Socha Na Tha" was not the average big budget bollywood movie. It was just a pretty and charming movie.
While the movie itself was light cinema(must watch really), Ayesha Takia was the highlight No she didn't look hot, she looked very very cute
SPOILER WARNING! - Movie Story
Viren (Abhay Deol) and Aditi (Ayesha Takia) get introduced to each other by their families in order to get them engaged. Viren refuses to marry Aditi because he wants to marry his girlfriend of 3 years, Karen (Apoorva Jha). Viren & Aditi get along with each other. Viren's refusal creates lots of tension between the families, as Aditi's aunt feels insulted because Aditi has been turned down. This does not change Viren's and Aditi's view towards each other; they meet by coincidence, bond quickly and Viren invites Aditi to accompany him to Goa - he wants her to find out if his girlfriend Karen loves him or not. In Goa, the two of them grow closer to each other and Karen notices this. Back at home, Viren realizes he has fallen in love with Aditi - however preparations for his own wedding with Karen are already realized; things get more complicated as he fought very hard to get engaged to Karen because she's a Christian and Viren himself a Hindu. Despite this, he wants to marry Aditi who has fallen in love with him also. However, Aditi rejects him out of respect for her aunt and uncle who have taken care of her, got all the trouble when Viren refused her the first time and now engaged her to Mahesh, Aditi's on-and-off boyfriend. After several conversations, Viren finally gives up Aditi, tells the truth to Karen and gets on with his life, feeling miserable. On the day of Aditi's wedding, Karen meets her & asks her why is she not marrying Viren, now that Viren & Karen have broken up. Karen also tells her that Viren is miserable without Aditi & she has no right to do that to him. Her cousin sister overhears this conversation & convinces Aditi to elope with Viren. Aditi leaves her house, seeks Viren out, makes him accompany her and both of them elope and get married. When they come back, they apologise, are greeted on friendly terms and the two families reconcile their differences and accept the couple.
