I got this forward a few days ago...

Like you, this man too, had a dream.

Like you, he too pushed his way into the crowded train

Like you, he too wanted to get going before he got delayed

Unlike you, he slipped and fell in the gap between the train and the platform at Kandivli station.

And eight bogies went over him

The man obviously has a guardian angel and supportive bystanders who told him exactly what he shouldn’t do — move. And so, the man lay absolutely still as eight bogies of the train passed over him — centimeters from his head. Within seconds the 12-coach train passed and the man clambered out, unaided, unhurt, but too shocked to speak to us after his near-death experience

i guess the same reason he fell on the track in the first place was the same reason he survived!! big huge gap between the trains and the platform!

^yep. had there not been enough space, he wud have been crushed. and he was sensible enough not to move too. had he moved, he might have been run over too. And, though he's slipped, he just stood there. he didnt fall over.

Lucky him, indeed.

man i saw it a few days back in mid day..and i was like..:O..i use the same stretch everyday..n how i used to crib about the large gap between the platform and the train..but the same thing saved a man's life..

its a lesson to me as well...
cos a few days back i did the most stupid thing, i ever did in my life..something tht cud have killed me.. i took a goregaon bound fast train from Bombay central in the morning..at 7.38 am...i had actually missed my usual 7.30 am train to andheri.. i see very few ppl in the first class compartment than usual days..but i just brush it off as in morning its usually not tht crowded..all seemed fine but as the train neared andheri, i realised it wasnt slowing...as i was already late i didnt understand what to do..it then slows down when it reaches the platform but i realize its not going to stop...in the thick of the moment, i forget about about common sense and just jump on the platform...then i realize tht the train wasnt as slow as i had calculated...my legs dont seem to stop and i straight away collide with a guy, head on, even after trying to apply brakes to my legs for close to 20-30 meters or so...obviously he is annoyed as hell..and before he cud start with his usual dose of maa-behen, i just slip off the corner and take the Foot over bridge..

As i reach the top stairs, i realize what a terrible thing i had done...and give a slap to myself in the back of my head, much to the amusement of a few bystanders...

but tht was one friggin scary experience..had the guy not been there, i wud have definitely slipped to the ground and wud have got multiple bruises all over...geez..didnt dare to tell my parents about tht experience...

Even more scary is if u hit a pole or something in the process. I had seen a person almost like that (going to hit a mopving vehicle on road), not once but twice.
