VERY IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION
Guys please see this as this is going to be critical for our fantasy f1 league.
As you know we have the xtrarisk choice of "first to retire" drivers. Now there is a problem with that choice in this race. The fact was that Sakon Yamamoto and Giancarlo Fisichella both had an accident on lap 2. Yamamoto actually rammed into Fisichella as he was coming back from the gravel track after spinning off.

Now as soon as that happened, Yamamoto went into the pits where his front wing was replaced and a new front wing was attached. However judging by the extent of damage he didn't continue and he retired from the race.

Now the same procedure was followed for fisichella. He came into the pits(NOTE: he didn't come right into the garage which would signify a retirement at the race track) but instead went into the pit stop and there he retired.

So since fisichella came after Yamamoto, its technically Yamamoto that retired first from the race. Based on evidence that we witnessed first hand and since in our case "first to retire" is going to be critical to decide the race, for all purposes, Sakon Yamamoto was the first "Race Retirement".

Please note that we have been debating this point for the last hour If you have any problems with this you can voice your views but please note that live timings don't reflect retirement timings and video evidence points to Yamamoto.

This is a critical decision as it effects xtra-risk in our league so all opinions are welcome. You can see race highlights to confirm the same. For now the decision stands as is stated.

If its not the actual standings and official boards that u r considering, then consider this - Accident yamamoto and fisichella's car was damaged. Yamamoto went onto the pits first and retired. fisichella went to the pits after yamamoto(if i am correct) and then he followed the same suit. If right after the accident, fischella's car is so badly damaged that he could not even make it to the pits before yamamoto, doesn't it logically mean that he was the first casualty of the race? I didn't happen to see the accident coz as soon as first lap into the last corner i got a call which i quickly disconnected but by the time i came back to the hall, this incident was over. Its upto u guys to decided I just luv the fact that Ferrari won

If fisichella had retired without making it into the pits, he would have been the first to retire.

If Fisi had gone to the pits and driven directly into the garage, he would have been the first to retire.

but instead, what happened was, Fisi followed Yamamoto into the pits (11.2 secs behind which is a HUUGE amount in F1 terms. enough to complete refilling and changing the tyres).

Yamamoto entered the pits 11.2 secs ahead and then his mechanics tried changing the front wing of his car. they abandoned it as there was too much damage.

fisi followed him in and then stood in the pit lane as his mechanics examined his car. they even started some work at the back of his car, then decided that it was too much.

This is why we have concluded that Yamamoto was the first to retire

i guess it depends on when the descision to retire came and who decided first.

looking at classification fisichella is ahead of yamamoto which means that yamamoto retired first right.
