There's many that would agree with you, (something the Government fear, so they'll never put the question to referendum, just in case... cowards).......... More than one person called for a reintroduction of hanging, especially after the Arthur Freeman incident, now with the deaths of so many in the Victorian fires, (currently 181 confirmed, but fears are that it will rise to 300 dead by the time they've finished checking), again there are calls for the death penalty to be reinstated...
