The Place Where I live...!!!

Guyss & Galsss....I thought of posting abt d my place were I live....U can also post abt the Place were U live....



Now abt My place.....
I live in Anushakti Nagar... ...It is the residential township of the Bhabha Atomic Research Center(BARC) & it is located about 20km nort-east of Mumbai downtown(Near Navi Mumbai Side)...

Since the colony was only for the employees of Department of Atomic Energy(DAE) of the Government of India in Mumbai....they decided to name it Anushakti Nagar...."Anu Shakti" means Atomic Power in Sanskrit/Hindi and Nagar is Colony or township....
My place is is a well planned colony with a population of about 40,000 ppl & is claimed to be the largest township of any organisation in the World.
It is a self-contained town with residential flats, local grocery shops, sports and recreation facilities, schools, medical clinics, a large hospital, bank, post office and transport links to many parts of Mumbai .The electricity to the colony is provided by TATA Power and is 24hrs unlike other places in Mumbai... and all this is funded by the central government...

The place can be broadly divided into three parts.
* Anushakti Nagar(the Core)
* New Mandala (on d Eastern Part)
* Western Sector(As the name suggests d Western Part)

Colony has 17 high-rises and numerous buildings & one of the best & striking aspects of my place is tat the naming of all these buildings ....The names of these buildings are taken from Indian Heritage names, Rivers, Mountains, Hill-stations, Hill-ranges ,Historical Places ,Pilgrim Places ,Great Saints ,Classical Ragas(also called as Raagmala buildings)...

The Colony is bordered on one side by a large hill which is the Highest in Mumbai. .During Monsoons this Hill looks absolutely majestic when it gets covered in Clouds and vanishes completely...The College is just below the Hill and dere is a lake adjacent to it.....

It is considered to be one of the "Greenest" and better maintained parts of (an otherwise polluted) Mumbai city.

But what abt internet ?? Do you have good connections there too ??

Internet there arent many options available....Only MTNL Triband and d one wich d cable wala gives....and ofcourse u have d dialup connection..

Others like sify,exatt,pacenet are available but not permitted in the colony ... ..Its i guess coz of d security concerns tat they arent available in d colony...



And I wud like to let u tat after tat Bomb blasts, life became miserable....we have 5 gates of wich 3 main ones were closed coz of security concerns and only two were open...and we were subjected to heavy security checks... ..Every damn person had to carry an id and every damn vehicle was checked throughly...
But now d things are starting to ease out ...but still they havnt opened d gates...
