It is, indeed, a 159.7cc, 15.5 bhp, 1.31 kgm machine. Body panels have not been changed, but the new colors (a superb yellow and a striking titanium/matte grey), loads of superb details (like aluminium pegs, well-designed peg subframes, the petal disc in the pic) make the bike look a lot more fashionable and attractive. The petal disc offers greater cooling (the surface area of the leading edge is greater in the irregular petal shape than in the circular rotor disc), but get this. That's a 270mm disc. Which should give you an ideal of the performance/stoppie potential of the bike.

If u want ur money's worth in the long run, i say, stay away from TVS Apache...

And tht 1300 mm wheelbase is still too less to add any confidence in straight line high speed rideability of this bike..ther have been so many complaints about its smallish wheelbase..why does TVS turn a deaf ear to all those comments..??

I say, u'd be much safer with a Unicorn sport, or Xtreme or a Pulsar 150 dtsi...

^^well..when the Apache 150 was released, all bike mags had hailed it as being one of the best of the 150cc lot...it even got a few bike of year awards...just look how its market bonked after tht..its really funny tht now, those same mags say tht it is the most unrefined of the lot and tht they wud prefer the uni,xtreme or pulsar to it anyday.....

Simply because the Apache came at the wrong time. Right after it released, the Pulsar 150 also got digital meters, LED tail lamps and a much much better gearbox and the engine was refined much more.

The problem with TVS is their timing is really off....

When they launched the F2, they had the normal 150 in sight. But within a few days the 150 DTSi was released.

The F2 was then outdated in a matter of days. I still remember cursing TVS for their ads in which they shows that the F2 is better than the Pulsar 150. That was so frikkin unfair.

You cant compare an old bike to a new bike. I felt when the F2 flopped, TVS deserved it.

Now, it remains to be seen if the Apache RTR 160's launch timing is better or not.
